Knowing how things work.. on Klay – I'm sure that against the Wizards he'll play 32min, take 14 shots and make 8 and Mavs going to win, just to contradict you 😂😂😂
I think Grimes should start in games where teams have quick and shifty guards like a Ja morant. Klay can start against teams that play bigger and don't have to defend guards who play many pick and rolls.
Chill on klay we need all these options for the playoffs watch him drop 30 in a game that matters post season us having so many guys to go to grimes Marshall Dinwiddy pj klay all to be scoring options is huge, klay will find his spot
ROLE PLAYERS
-PJ is playing the best basketball I've seen him play. He's playing that PF role very well, averaging 12.8 points/8.6 rebounds per game. He's playing solid defense with 1.4 steals & 1.2 blocks per game. I wouldnt doubt if he's giving you a double/double dang near every game towards the end of the season. That Grant Williams trade is paying dividends.
-Like you said Naji is playing better than his contract. I called this too, back when they opted to sign for him over DJJ!
-Spencer Dinwiddie knows the system. He adds legit depth as the 3rd creater behind Luka & Kyrie on a vet min. He can hit some clutch 3s. He can fill in needed mins when someone goes down with injury
-Quentin Grimes is shooting 43% from 3 so far, on nearly 4 attempts per game. If he keeps that up, he will continue to help spread the floor. They will have to respect while he's on the floor. His defense hasnt been bad either. Klay has not been playing well, so QG might just have to fill what we signed Klay for…
CENTER
-I absolutely love having Big Gaff on this team. He is an athletic roll man that allows both Kyrie & Luka to play how they want. He's averaging 12.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game on about 21mpg.
-Lively is averaging 9.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in about 23 mpg. He's getting better, still young & still room to improve.
The combined effort of your centers is 21.8 points, 14 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. That is all the Mavs need from their center position. I like having them both on the roster, and one can step up for bigger mins if one gets injured. Big guys tend to get injured more often than smaller ones.
STARS
– Kyrie is averaging 24/5/5 on 45/49/88 shooting splits.
-Luka is averaging 29/8/8 on 34/45/75 shooting splits.
Your stars are showing up, but Luka needs to increase his percentages for sure. Instead of taking some heavily contested shots, start passing more to get his 3point shooters on heaters opening the lane up more for him.
WHAT SHOULD CHANGE
-Klay is averaging 13/3/3 on 36/38/94. He's shooting horribly and that's what we signed him for. He needs to moved to the bench & only shoot wide open 3s. Cut his mins down as well.

I thank the players, never Kidd. Whenever the players begin to struggle, they always have to carry themselves out of the whole and Kidd brings 0 leadership when everyone's heads are down. This team needs a leader to step up during the tough times desperately
Klay has nothing to prove to us Mavs fans and he's the only Mavs player who got 4 championship rings, he just have to stay healthy and be ready to be a role player with the Mavs and maybe who knows he'll show up when the OKC series comes and eventually the Emirates NBA cup moving forward.
Finding our chemistry, teams take time no matter of talent. However per the late great John Wooden, "the team with the best players almost all ways win". The injuries have given the opportunity for players 4 thur 9 to step up and play key mins and gain confidence. Now when all are healthy we have 2 quality players at each position except the power forward. We have PJ but unfortunately Maxi simply has not been a reliable backup. At $11 million per year this is simply not acceptable. Luka/SD, Irving/Grimes, Klay/Naji, PJ/??? (Maxi, Morris & OMax) simply have not taken advantage of this situation, I was hoping OMax was the answer but he simply is not ready. Morris simply an expensive cheerleader. Then Maxi, first he no longer shoots the 3 with confidence nor provides solid D or rebounder. IMO injuries & age has simply makes him unproductive. While he has a little value we need to package all three and trade for a dependable backup for PJ. Liv/Gafford covers the center. Throw in Hardy as back up scorer/guard. That's 10 deep. Our #1 need is a back up 4 for PJ. There are some good options available: Doe, seems to be the best fit.

Numbers on Klay are very very impressive and certainly point to a tough Kidd decision. He provides spacing but the numbers provided simply are overwhelming. I'm not ready to give up on him he is a great spot up shooter. But starting Naji or Grimmes and moving Klay to the bench and playing in the 15 to 20 min range giving him the free green light to shoot the 3. If he's hitting play him more if not play him a little less. Again I believe in Klay but Nick's numbers simply are too obvious, if they turn around which I hope they do then start him. Again great stats Nick that paint a decision for Kidd. Go Mavs.

Call me a Hater cause I don't really care what anyone thinks but Luka and Kyrie by themselves are the two best all star leading backcourt in the NBA, maybe All time STOP saying JB and JT are better just because they are stellar 2 way players. Boston is so good because of their depth Dallas All-Star duo would kill Tatum and Brown if they played 2 on 2. KAI LUKA got skill not just fffing athleticism and can't drible with my left hand and do complicated things on the floor!!! Sorry had to let my rant out!!!! Klay has to come off the bench going forward….assuming role player position. A hard pill to swallow for Klay but its the right decision. That's the solution- based on his sub par stats you outlined. He is not a third option on the squad. I like Klay, but that's the real. Resulting in a bench production lift with Spencer and Hardy.
Dallas got Klay primarily for the playoffs. I'm okay with him picking and choosing his spots in the regular season as long as he's ready to knock down shots in the playoffs
I think Klay can still start but Grimes should finish

Love Lively but he is some kind of reckless with his body sometimes. I cringe hard every times he lands awkwardly or have a hard fall especially with that built. He’s going have to stay healthy if want any shot at the title. Gaff is great but he is much slower on close out when good teams space us out. Dwight Powell and Maxi are Dwight Powell and Maxi 😅
Those locked on episodes with swipa, were definitely my least favorite. Saying Jamal Maurry is better than Kyrie is ridiculous

Klay thoughts: He wasn't brought here to be GS Klay… we have better players for that. He's here for extra offense that we didn't have in the Finals last year. We have some great additions that are showing their offense skill (Naji, Grimes). I give Klay a break this year because the first year on a new team coming from a DYNASTY must be really hard. Even if he doesn't show or emote it much; you know he wants to fit here and produce. I think he'll find his fit and if that's coming off the bench, OKAY! He's an amazing shooter and don't let the beginning of one season make you think he's washed or can provide nothing to the team. Give the Cap'm some time!
I would say that PJ is the most important role player for the reasons Nick talked about….the Mavs don't really have anyone who can fill his shoes. But the most valuable role player? And PJ will admit it…Lively or Gafford. PJ credits their work & ability to allowing him to be aggressive.

It’s not about him taking the shots it’s about klay missing all the damn shots which becomes wasted possessions. If he can atleast make some it wouldn’t hurt as bad. I know we all collectively want him to make it everytime he shoots it. It’s been frustrating seeing him miss so much I really hope he gets it together before it’s becomes too mental like a damn FG KICKER
