Seems like yall forgot that most of the players played in the 21 ecf. We just needed defense and more offensive players to help trae. I think we will be okay we just need to stay consistent with defense.

Being healthy has been huge for the Hawks. Amazingly from that 2021 run the only 2 starters still from that team is Trae and Clint. Hunter only played that New York series. Bogi was sharing starting time with Huerter who is now with the Kings. For all intents and purposes, this is mostly a new team built around Trae.

Trae led the league in assists the past 2 out of 3 years. It would’ve been 3 out of 3 without his injury. Idk how y’all are just now noticing it.
Atlanta has tried to build a team similar to the Celtics. They have so many long versatile 3 and D wings that can also create for themselves and then they have Trae as well who let’s be real, is a phenomenal point guard. The stats aren’t empty, his gravity combined with his passing makes it so hard to guard

This team suffered some significant injuries to their regular rotational players at the very beginning of the season after getting out to a 2-0 start and we saw a quick flash of what theyre doing now then, but they had to dig deep into the bench just to get by until they got healthy bodies back. The whole team is back now and they found that groove they had at the beginning back. They're fast, athletic, can shoot the deep ball and most importantly they are defending. Their bench is very deep now as well. Trae is play making like no other guard in the league and he can still torch a defense at any given time despite his shooting % being down currently. Defense wins games… if they can stay healthy, stay defensively focused, this team will become a dangerous foe to face come playoff time.
Trae Young’s shooting problems are health related. He has an achilles issue and now he’s missing some juice in his game and he’s struggling to generate some power
As a Hawks fan, I wouldn't say I'm ecstatic with how the Hawks have performed this year. 5 game streak is nice, and I recognize that we were ravaged with injuries to start the season, but our record should be quite a bit better than it is. Team still has a problem with playing to their competition good or bad instead of playing their way every time. Excited to see the team grow, though. We definitely have potential to become a contender.
Clint Capela is the biggest reason why the defense is so good atm
