Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina Condensed Game | 2024-25 ACC Men’s Basketball
The No. 20 North Carolina Tar Heels held off a tough Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets squad and came away with a 68-65 win at home. Seth Trimble was once again a big part of the win for Hubert Davis’ club, scoring a team-high 19 points on 5-6 shooting from the floor and 8-9 shooting from the FT line with 7 rebounds and 4 steals in the win. R.J. Davis added 16 points and Ian Jackson chipped in 15 points for the Heels. Lance Terry scored 22 points and Baye Ndongo added 19 points with 12 rebounds to pace Damon Stoudamire’s club in the loss.

UNC looked so strong early and now wth has happened?? This whole game was sorta brutal to watch
As a UNC basketball fan I must say that it's torture to watch this team play. The only place that this team has to go is up because they are playing bottom of the barrell basketball right now. When I saw how well UNC played at Kansas I felt good about this season…..but I realize now that Kansas just played a really bad game that night against a team that was truely not worthy to even be on the floor with them. UNC plays with absolutely no pride…..no confidence. Bad chemistry, bad defense, bad shooting, bad rebounding, and zero rim protection. This team would be a very good with a legitimate center. I blame coach Davis and his POOR recruiting for this….and his horrible recruiting continues with the 2025 team so far. J. Washington can't be depended on at the center position. He has no confidence, no fight, no heart. Opposing centers abuse him. Push him around like a rag doll. I really feel bad for RJ. Everyone expects him to put this team on his back and carry them. Damn that!! This team needs to wake the hell up and carry each other. As a fan I am supposed to feel good about the win over Georgia Tech. but I don't. This team keeps you on the edge of your seat each and every game with their inconsistent, weak play. God help them when they meet Duke this year. I know that Duke is licking their chops to get at this team. They are going to destroy UNC.

Once again, Davis shoots like 25 times and the forward and centers combined, shot like 4 times…..Thats is RETARDED !!!!…..the game is won closer to the basket……jordan was a shooting guard and he was the goat in the nba, but even he didnt shoot 25 times a game…Dean wouldn't allow his team to get away from him by a single player…its still a team sport…look at the box score of the best teams, and there is a balance…….unc b ball program is on the way to the bottom…….
The time has come for an overhaul. Mack Brown is gone, and now itās time for Hubert to hit the road.
Although Iām a diehard fan and alum of SC, my family is exclusively Tar Heel alum, and Iāve watched them for 30 years. Last time I saw such silliness was with Doherty. Hubert has been a pendulum swinging between great success and utter failure. I think heās likely to stick with the latter.
He has a bunch of guards out there playing YouTube streetball. No bigs, or anything that resembles a UNC team capable of dominating and showing like it has some sense.
Finally, the recruiting has been nothing short of a disgrace. UNC should not be losing blue chip recruits to lesser schools.
Bubba needs to open up the checkbook and fix this mess before it becomes damaged beyond repair. Hubert is a āfeel good storyā coach. Heās not capable of sustaining the success they saw under Smith and Williams.

UNC will be ok. They have played some tough teams early this year and will benifit greatly from it come tourney time. Yes..its alot of work that needs to be done. Cadeau needs to stop being sloppy with the ball, and the 1 of the bigs needs to step up..preferably Washington. The defense and rebounding will improve throughout the year. Cade Tyson has been absolutely trash..but hes still finding his place on this team. Go Heels
This team isn't very good . Hubert Davis inability to recruit is showing up big time. Georgia tech had 2 starters out an made it close. Why isn't Hubert playing Brown over Withers is nuts. RJ Davis has reincarnated to Caleb Love.

Hubert DAVIS GOT INGRAM, RYAN, for last year from transfer portal, AND recruited 2 five star top 10s in Ian Jackson and Powell, and a 4 star center in working in James, idk WHY all yall hating bro, I understand we struggling some but it's not all on HD, he has done some wonder things for us and honestly we was a top 10 team ALLLLLL year last year and shouldn't have lost to Bama, but SUCH IS COLLEGE BASKETBALL! he is a great coach WITH FIRE, who pushes his players and literally goes to see EVERY player he recruits over and over AND calls them daily and send assistants out too. The man doing what he can and IF WE HAD A FAN BASE THAT would chill and SUPPORT our TEAM, win, lose or draw, we would DO A LOT BETTER! if u don't like something, ok i get it, I'm not happiest with results either, but I'm a LIFER, a TARHEEL for life, and I know that certain factors come into play with EVERY TEAM AND ROSTER, just SUPPORT THE TEAM "FANS" & COACH DAVIS! have FAITH ! As a Tar Heel fan, I don't feel good about this win or the way this team plays IQ basketball, it's like headless chickens out there
The Heels all look afraid to shoot the ball ( I guess because they are afraid of missing or because of this "pass up a good shot for a great shot" mentality), but against good teams, a layup isn't going to happen on every possession. The guys need to take the good shot and stop hesitating to try and always looking for a better one and then get crap at the end of the shot clock. This hesitation is one of the reasons, I believe, that the 3 point percentage is low. We cannot win this year (against good teams) without hitting a good number (and percentage) of 3 point shots (it's just reality).
