Russ was never really a bad player, he was an arrogant player that was overpaid after his career was almost out the door… People act like he wasnt leading the wizards the year before he went to the lakers… As soon as his market value went down, i knew he'd end up the perfect addition to a team because he definitely wasnt worth the money he was getting paid before, but he definitely is worth more than the money he's getting now… I'd say around 10 million is more of a fair contract for him

To me Russell Westbrook has never been misunderstood to me. He's always been that dude. He's in my top ten of favorite players ever.
I hate videos that act like Russ was ever terrible. He only played bad on the lakers…Jokic revived his career is crazy.
If he was so bad everywhere how does he keep getting triple doubles. Part of the reason he gets traded is this narrative media create like this video…then he becomes the scapegoat and then the team he leaves becomes worse.
On top of that you only heard positive things about him from his teammates. This Jokic revived his career and has him playing good narrative is insane.
Having another playmaker as good as Jokic helps for sure. However Russ number in shooting % hasn’t changed much. But yes I’m sure all the isolated lay up and playmaking, playing hard, and being effective member on the team is due to Jokic on the court.
Russ isn’t magically a better shooter or scorer now. He has always played pretty well when he was a secondary option which he currently is right now. The same thing happened in the playoff with the clippers. Whole team got hurt and Russ was the number 1 option and he looked damn good or at least better. Putting up big number multiple games.
The fact of the matter is Russ needs to be a focal point to be effective. It’s that simple it’s not because of Jokic…it’s because of the system and injuries allowing him the opprunitiy to actually get a rhythm. Instead of not seeing the ball for most of the game or coming off the bench and be expected to produce.
Russ simply isn’t effective as a background character. Never was and never will be. He still doesn’t fit into the modern system team format, however if you give him the ball consistently and let him play his game he will produce. He showed that time and time again. The system Denver is playing allows Russ to actually not just spot up jump shoots while the shoot clock is ticking down.
The lakers fucked Russ with a stupid system that was obviously not going to work.
Russ is a problem off the bench
And the fact that they signed him for 2 years, 6.7M $
Westbrook has 3 out of 21 games where he has a positive plus/minus. Twice against the Jazz and once against the Lakers.
