  1. Hi Low,

I love your channel and enjoy your content. I agree with your premise that the Celtics had an easy path to the finals due to injuries, but I do disagree with the math.

“A win share is worth one-third of a team win. If a team wins sixty games, there are 180 'Win Shares' to distribute among the players.”

Using your numbers, the Celtics played against better competition than your projections. Based on your calculations with 3-win shares equal to 1-win, the numbers would be:

Team Player Original Wins Wins After Adjustment New Total
    Heat Jimmy Butler 46 9.1 /3 42.97
    Cavs Jarrett Allen & Mitchell 48 13.2/3 44.7
    Pacers Halliburton 47 4.5/3 45.5
    New Average 44.39
This puts the Celtics ahead of the 2014 Miami Heat and 2004 Celtics in terms of competition faced.

    Thanks for your great content!

  2. Im a heat fan and i give them credit i think the bubble was easier far as essentially everyone was in a open gym no crowd no nothing no distractions just playing basketball as if its an open run in the off season which was cool but i feel like people forgot about how almost every team the Lakers played had injuries too smh 😆 😡 through out that run

  3. Just a reminder everyone picked the mavs cause the so called west was harder and they went though it just for the Celtics to beat they ass in 5 and make it look easy. The reality was no one was beating the Celtics this season. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE EAST OR WEST

  4. 1) you play whose in front of you. What are they supposed to do? Forfeit until everyone’s healthy? (Also no KP mention)
    2) if it was the easiest path ever why did the majority of ESPN pundits (and you LOW) pick the Mavericks to win the finals?
    3) we already had our hard path in 2022 Brooklyn, Milwaukee, Miami as a result we lost the finals. Suspended coach, and playoff heartbreak. YEARS of heartbreak

all I ever heard was the Celtics can’t get it done. They finally do and this is the new argument. NBA fans are the most miserable sons of bitches.

  5. I don’t disagree with your analysis, however I do want to bring up the point that i haven't seen discussed which is the reason why the path discussion was so talked about other then trying to lessen how good the Celtics are, it also is because the Mavs had to go through war to get to the finals and what I mean by that is miles increased fatigue and all the other physical and mental components of playing long series that the Celtics didn't. Thus the Celtics where significantly fresher and had more prep time going into the finals then any other team coming out the west. I'm not saying it's the Celtics fault, but it was a very big advantage compared to the west. Again not the Celtics fault but they definitely got helped by playing weak teams

  6. There is no easy paths to the finals in todays NBA, talent is spread so far and everyone can play ball and has skill on their team. This notion is only for pea brains who dont understand the evolution of the game and that every game now is a challenge and anything can happen. No one wants to be clowned over the media constantly so people always try to give their best effort forward, otherwise you get shit on verbally and in the game which no one wants, they didnt have that back in the day

  7. Oh please. Easiest in history? What about the 1987 Lakers who faced the 37 win nuggets, 42 win warriors and 39 win Sonics en route to a finals matchup with a Celtic team without bill walton and with McHale playing with a broken foot?

  8. I also think we should consider the conference in the wins. Is not the same to get 48 wins in the 2024 ec than get 48 wins in the 2016 wc

  9. no the 2002 lakers had the easiest title since they sweep the nets and they were rigged against the kings in the wcf

  10. It’s not that they’re just in the East, its that the best players on every team they player were injured, including Luka in the finals.

  11. If the Celtics had lost to the Mavericks as several analysts predicted (including LoW here), the narrative would have been to break up Tatum and Brown as their pairing would be seen as unable to win together being 0-2 in the Finals in the last 5seasons. That Kyrie would have the ultimate revenge against the Boston fans that felt betrayed by him, and how Luka was clearly the best player in the 2024 playoffs & likely FMVP. That the C’s could feast upon the “LEastern” Conference to get the best record league-wide, but wilts against real competition from the West like the 5th seeded Mavs.

When it comes down to it, it’s now the mindset that if my favorite team/player didn’t win it all then the championship and champions “don’t count” as legitimate.

  12. 5:32 I've been telling Denver fans they had it easy 😂😂😂removing those win shares make no sense because in the games that those guys played, Boston was beating them so throe guys made no difference

  13. Are you freaking kidding me? Did you not watch the playoffs the year before?
The Denver Nuggets 2023 road to the championship

    1st round – 8 seed Minnesota Timberwolves – 42-40
    2nd round – 4 seed Phoenix Suns – 45 – 37
    3rd round – 7 seed Los Angeles Lakers – 43-39
    Finals – 8 seed Miami Heat 44 – 38

Those Nuggets never played any team that had anywhere close to 50 wins all through the playoffs!

Compare that to the 2024 Boston Celtics

    1st round – 8 seed Miami Heat – 46-36
    2nd round – 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers – 48-34
    3rd round – 6 seed Indiana Pacers – 47-35
    Finals – 5 seed Dallas Mavericks – 50-32

Granted both of these teams had a fairly easy route to the playoffs, but Boston had tougher opponents in every round than the Nuggets had the year before.

Denver won the easiest championship in history in 2023. I don't know how anybody could even be saying Boston won the easiest championship when the previous year was the easiest championship in history.

  14. My problem is if people say this ring count or have a problem with it then the 2020 lakers ring definitely counts.
