Atlanta needed a wake up call before the NBA Cup game.
Trae got aggressive way too late. 6 shots in the first 3 quarters wasn’t gonna get the win, defense was bad but I’m not that upset tbh

I don't understand the not playing Kobe. It's amazing that the Hawks won 6 in a row the way Trae is playing. 😏
I feel like of all 82 games, this is probably going to be the least painful to lose when you consider Bogi and Jalen were out, and we are still above 0.500 even after losing, but losing to Jokic sucks so much. I hate seeing that guy happy, I hate his game.
An exposure of the team like this can be a positive in the long run, as they know what they need to fix to go against the best in the west. It won't be like this when they play them again. It showed that Jalen Johnson is integral to that team, and when he's out, it's a bad result.
it wasnt a `hostile act`… Aaron is a great guy, hed never intentionally hurt anyone. It was a flagrant though, he shouldve been more careful.
As I said on Twitter, this game is indicative of a problem the Hawks are going to continue to have throughout the season, especially if they choose to mostly focus on player development and keep the starting lineup the same. The starting 5 can't shoot. Trae this season has been an awful shooter, Dyson can't shoot, Zaccharie can't shoot, Jalen is a reluctant shooter, Clint can't shoot. Hawks are bottom 10 in the league in offensive rating. During the streak, team was saved by the bench putting up 40 to 60 points a night. That's not a reliable source of scoring, especially when the two biggest scorers, Hunter and Bogi, are the most injury prone players on the team. So they should be expected to miss games. And if they're having a bad night, you're basically screwed offensively. Of course they have trade assets in expiring contracts like Nance, Zeller, and Capella, but i don't think the Hawks, even after Dec. 15th, when you can start to trade players signed over the summer, will do anything, because they want Dyson, Zaccharie, and Jalen to grow. Which is going to lead to a lot of losses, as growth isn't linear. They're going to have a bunch of high turnover, high missed shot, nights.
I'm Sorry Dyson and Zaccharie, but what the Hawks need is a 2 or 3 who is an efficient 25 point per game scorer, who can defend guards if they're the shooting guard(because of Trae). Someone who can make Trae the 2nd best offensive player on the team, where he can continue to play true point guard and take 15 or less shots a night, while Jalen would be the 3rd best offensive player, in the mold of a do a bit of everything, Worthy, Pippen, or Chris Bosh type, instead of the prime Grant Hill I think he could be. But those types of players are hard to find/get. The Anthony Edwards, Devin Bookers of the world. Cam Johnson at the 3 wouldn't be bad, but they probably don't want to bench Zaccharie or shorten his minutes. Zach Lavine would be great on offense but terrible guarding the best guards on opposing teams. Do Hawks go after Jalen Green & see if they can change his shot diet? Or is Atlanta the place Brandon Ingram should be?
I of course could be wrong, but if KAT plays Wednesday, i can see the Hawks being blown out by the Knicks. They're too dependent on Hunter & Bogi to stay with them offensively.
I guess we'll see Wednesday though.

Everybody needs to chill out first of all they just won 6 in a row it’s a long season the nuggets where just embarrassed previous game they have the best player in the league the hawks down on shooting give them a chance as the team is now they are a growing team let’s make judgement end of season of changes needed to be made they got a good one in Dyson off season let’s see what they can do
