An embarrassing "effort" by this "team" . Keep in mind that Haliburton and Siakim both make more per game than Roger Brown and Mel Daniels did COMBINED for an entire season. I've been following the Pacers for 56 years and I have never been more disappointed. I used to attend games before us poors were priced out, they're all millionaires win or lose.
When the coach gets pissy with the media, I expect the media to get pissy right back. The media represents the fan base whether they acknowledge that or not. We needs better fight from our reporters.
Had LaMelo played, they would have beaten the Pacers by 35 points.. Sht is ridiculous, they're missing 5 player's. All which are amongst their very best.. Not only are we a terrible Defensive team with 0 hustle, no effort on the glass.. We have 0 effort on Offense now too… 0 tenacity.. Time to take a look at these "max player's." Something has to change…
THIS SEASON is going to be a Long, HARD, TOUGH, UGLY, BUT NECESSARY Season. They DIDN'T DO "ANY" of the Preparation they did PRIOR to the Season LAST YEAR, THIS year. You Can TELL, especially Ty. They thought they were "Just gonna puck up from last year. NO. YOU NEEDED TO BUILD ON WHAT YOU DIDNAND HOW YOU ENDED. They went on VACATION. Everybody ELSE in the East was in The Lab. Learn your Lesson.
It’s clear to me and everyone that this team needs a shake up. It is not just the inconsistent effort – and inability to get the shot to fall when needed – it’s about how the management and coach built this team. What seemed smart last year seems surprisingly dumb this year. We were built for speed and agility to outscore opponents last year. It worked. When we could have shored up our roster for rebounding and defense we doubled down on internal development. Yes we’ve had some nasty breaks literally with players getting hurt that are our grit guys and back up centers, but wow what a year makes a difference. With the league changes to allow more physicality to the increased physical and isolated guarding of Ty and his inability at times to mentally and/or physically cope plus not having his comfort zone of players to work with – he seems lost half the time. Mix in a total inability to play halfway decent defense. Add that after Ty is taken out you have your two best offensive weapons (after TJ God bless him) provide you a half court identify that is at odds with your built flow – and you have a team with no identity on either end of the floor, no confidence in their ability because they need to outshoot opponent and if their shots don’t drop they lose heart – and they are not built, if the shots don’t drop, to know how to mount a solid comeback.
I gave up on the game midway through the 3rd after they could have taken the lead several times but could not – offense and defensive fail after fail and I quit. Only to know I made the right call in the morning. Going to be a long season. The way this team is built is the problem as is overestimating Ty’s ability to play fast when he’s being bullied. Didn’t matter for Reggie because he mostly shot off screens and worked tirelessly to get free. Ty is the ballhandler. You can bump him off with his frame and mentality. He’s going to need to find answers – we want to support him and his growth but the fan base is tired of these games and that starts with the top and management decisions
Make the play in, get lucky, and get a top pick best case scenario for this team right now.
Regarding 50/50 balls – its not like i didnt see some hustle to try to grab and create loose balls- but it seems they don’t understand how to maximize their effort to crash the boards mixed with at times not being able to muster a grab. Our players just seem off in the ability (skill, mindset, coaching, effort). TJ, Furphy and Obi all seemed to hustle last night. All bench.
Yeah, this is not a good team. Myles is taking more shots of shots than Tyrese, and Pascal at the beginning of the game is crazy. Sticking Pascal to the corners like Toronto did to him last season has made him disengage and remove him from the offense.There is no need for Myles and Ben to have the same usage as Pascal and Tyrese.

Coming from Toronto to see how Pascal would fair with a team more spacing, worked only half season. I've been disappointed with how I've been using him because it's definitely not like a star but role player this season.
I bought a 10 game ticket package last season and decided to upgrade to a half season this year, thinking the team was on the rise. What a huge mistake.
Looking forward to getting the Fever season started. At least they are fun to watch.

This may not matter and we may get tired of this topic, but if you have league pass, go watch Gary Payton II's post game interview and just listen to how he speaks about Buddy Hield. Its AMAZING the way he speaks about not even his play on the court but his effect on the locker room and the kids from the Bahama's that apparently look up to him. Constantly talking about his spirt, whether he's starting or not and he even said it himself even though his post game press conference was really short.
And watch Steve Kerr's also. Its amazing how they talk about this guy. A far cry from what we heard when he was here. I dunno man but it seems like we're not only missing shooting but apparently the locker room isn't in the best shape either.
