bobby seems like a pretty level headed guy from his regular appearances on sbortsnet last year, i bet after 2-3 mins of debate he'd switch out tari eason for rj barrett. getting him in the garland/hero tier would be tough but tari eason is pretty funny and i think even bobby would have a laugh about it after a brief discussion

the tempo name isnt bad. i think it works, has basketball relevance to it (unlike the raptors) and is nice and simple.
like all logos, it will take time for any brand to grow and be appreciated. logos are meant to represent a brand as clearly and concisely as possible in various mediums. they're not meant to please fans in a bubble.
lets say nike didnt exist and someone made a brand new shoe company and presented a checkmark as its logo. you think that would win your average person over in terms of design and meaning etc? nope. it took time for it to evolve and become as iconic as it is today.
its basically similar to the raptors (and their logo) who were largely a joke until they started winning.
What hilarious too is yesterday Soto chose the Mets over us too lol

The latest episode of Open Gym was such a fun throwback to that magical 06-07 season. When it got to the moment of Garbajosa's injury, all the painful memories just came flooding back because his reaction was just so raw and he would've made such a huge difference in the New Jersey series.

Don't overthink it I'm super into it. We're getting a team in the WNBA; probably the coolest league in professional sport! It's hoops…you come for the basketball and you stay for the culture. We got you Tempo. You think Sue Bird would consider coaching? Is Cheryl Miller doing other things? It would be great if we got someone from the Culture. For me, it's huge we get good broadcasters. The Raptors media eco system is great but the nucleus is Matty and Jack, both of whom know the WNBA maybe they could hook the Tempo up? Is there building too small. Valkyries have sold a lot of seasons ticket. You Mofo's get on board..it's going to be hot. Lets go Temp!!!!!

Nothing particularly wrong with the name "tempo", but it's just not interesting or relevant to TO in any way. It's like they pulled a random team name out of a hat. Might as well be the Wild Cats.

I was really hoping for another dinosaur name because that's the only reason I ever cared about The Raptors as a kid.
And because I wanted to get my niece, who is also a fan of dinosaurs into basketball.
How the heck do I sell something like Toronto Tempo to her? How is this getting young girls excited about basketball in Canada?
Just beyond underwhelming and has literally nothing to do with Canada or Toronto.
Seems like it was designed by the same high school students who made our current extremely ugly 'We the Chevron" jerseys.
As an artsy city we can do better and we deserve better than this! We need a redo!
