  1. Maybe the league should just move the arc farther toward halfcourt. Corner can stay the same, same width of the whole 3 point line, but greater length.

Or maybe thereโ€™s something they could do about the defensive ruleset to make 3s easier to guard, I donโ€™t know what though.

This assumes that people generally donโ€™t like seeing a lot of 3s. I definitely get that impression, but thatโ€™s not scientific.

  2. Another reason no one likes them. They sold their souls to analytics and play such a boring brand of basketball. On top of that you have cringe Tatum and douche Brown as your Top-2 players

  3. Yeah I saw the three point differential of the Cโ€™s Grizz game and Iโ€™m with you funky, Iโ€™m not mad at the way my favorite team plays, but if they could have shot/made a couple more 2โ€™s they beat the grizzlies at home. But I guess itโ€™s just a meaningless regular season game right

  4. People talk about the Celtics like its easy to build a team with like 8 dudes who can score 50% from three every given game. Half of the league can't do what the Celtics do because they don't have shooting. Some teams don't have any shooting at all. You think the Nuggets wouldn't die to hit on a Payton or Sam? But they didn't so they can't do what the Celtics do. This isn't breaking basketball because this type of team is nearly impossible to create and harder to keep together. Which is why they have a couple of years max as this squad

  5. Here's a weird solution to this issue I haven't thought about deeply: What If there was a cap on the amount of 3s a team could attempt a game, after which point all shots beyond the arc would count as 2s. With the only caveat being that 3s would count 3s in the 4th quarter within the last x amount minutes, and in for the entirety of overtime periods. Thoughts?

  6. Whenever a basketball tactic get stretched out the fans all start screeching and it's always hilarious to watch.

  7. Itโ€™s been broken. Watched a game live the other day a few rows back from courtside center court. Court is tiny for these guys. 3pt line NEEDS to be at 33ft. Itโ€™s a joke honestly how close an nba 3 is for these guys.

  8. So whats more fun? Watching contested midrange shots and trying to score on 4 ppl in the paint? Post scoring? Shitty ass spacing?? ๐Ÿ˜‚

  9. Wonder if this play style being standard for the league as a whole is related to the NBA viewership decline

  10. Ratings are in the trash can and the spamming 3pt shots is one of the reasons.

It's just not an entertaining product. Shoot me.

  11. I sonhope the Cavs beat them in the East. F Boston. Ruining the game. But the Warriors are also to blame for making the NBA into this around 2016

  12. lol they win in spite of the threes they could attempt 15 less and be better. Itโ€™s just no team has 5 guys who can all dribble pass shoot defend in the starting 5. They have no liabilities

  13. A combination of soft ahh fouls refs call, the non-stop 3-point contests, and mainstream involvement of sports betting is ruining the NBA. Something has to give next season, I've nearly mentally tapped out of the league at this point and don't want it to get past that point

  14. Some people say the NBA is the best its ever been lol yea less defense and chucking up 100 3's a game

  15. People go โ€œthe celtics are ruining basketballโ€ like buddy your team couldnโ€™t do this if they tried lmao. Unless every nba team has multiple stretch bigs and an entire rotation that can shoot 3s at mid to high volume itโ€™s only going to be the celtics doing this.

  16. Just like the 2018 Rockets, the Celtics will live by the 3 and die by the 3. Or they realize they're missing 3s before going 0-27.

  17. In 2021 I had league pass. This season Iโ€™ve watched two quarters of basketball. Both games were a blowout. Itโ€™s unwatchable. I did watch the playoffs last year and some of that was cool but no one wants to watch teams lose by 30 or be down by 30 in the second quarter. Terrible

  18. Sixty 3s? The NBA is unwatchable. Last night I saw a clip from a Suns/Lakers game this season where 8 shots were taken in 1 min and 22 seconds. Seven of the 8 shots were 3s. 20 years from now this era will be known as one of the worst.

  19. It will come down to winning. Cleveland, Knicks, OKC, Memphis, Dallas, Denver… all take under 40 3's per game. If one of those teams takes out the Celtics in the playoffs, and (hopefully) 2 of those teams meet in the finals, the trend will go back to a healthy ammount.

  20. 60 3's is diabolical. I think this is partly what other players are talking against when they champion "playing the right way"๐Ÿค”

  21. Honestly there is no solution to stop teams from taking so many threes other than just removing it (which is a dumb idea) i seem to lean towards the idea of either removing the corner three or making the three point line universal distance from the basket so the corner three isnt closer than a shot from the wing

  22. Don't know about anyone else but I feel guilty, awkward and really embarrassed that it's my team taking 50 3s a game and they're the latest in a line of teams ruining the game.

On behalf of Cs fans, we're sorry ๐Ÿ˜‚

  23. this mentality has already bled into 2k. once it's fully normalized and pickup games start being the same, i'll officially be done with this sport.

  24. i rly been waiting like 4 years to here funky say my nba champion boston celtics and it never gets oldโ€ฆ bulls fan btw i gotta be happy 4 someone
