Looking further into this, ESPN now shows that Robinson has a return date estimated to be on January 1st! I don't agree with MitchRob clogging the paint. Because when MitchRob is in the paint. That's going Kat movements a lot easier. That's going to open waves either Kat can go tthe left or the right. And MitchRob will get a lot more Dunks in the paint where he always eat.

Good take Troy on the Knicks interior defense. RJ Barrett was cooking us all night. I don't expect Mitch Rob to come back in game shape however with his height and defensive presence in the paint should deter players from driving into the lane. Can't wait to see what this team looks like fully healthy.
Honestly speaking, the way Achiuwa play he’s a second coming of Draemond Green. An undersized center who play aggressive hard nose defense, great foot positioning and is an overall beast on defense. Plug in Achiuwa at the 5, Towns, Anunoby, Hart, Brunson

My senior citizen eyes know what they see when they see it. I haven't seen defense played at Snitchie's level since Rodman and before Rodman, Bill Russell. The dude is only making 14m this year and next and he has no problem coming off the bench. That makes his contract THE most valuable contract in the league. At 14m, I got no problem if my team employs an impact player that only plays the playoffs. The guy we were talking about getting, Walker Kessler, is beasting right now. Anyone want to bet that Kessler can't get 10 points off of Mitch?

So much excitement for an injury prone player I’m going to leave it all on the table and say this is the last chance I give Mitch if he gets injured again this season or in the playoffs then people need to stop hesitating on letting him go.

Would fix that defense real nice. If Thibs would balance out the minutes they would be less random with their dominance and more sustainable.
Love the Knicks but our defensive looks really bad. We couldn’t stop Cade and lost to the Pistons. We couldn’t stop RJ last night and almost lost the game, Scottie was injured 3rd qtr, I think we might have lost if he was still in. I’m glad Mitch is coming back, but we have an all star team. We should be crushing teams like the raptor, jazz, hornets and pistons with or without Mitch. Also what if Mitch comes back and knock on wood gets injured before playoffs. We need a solid backup plan.
So what your saying is when Mitch comes back he will fix our poor defense, I agree but the big problem is will Thibs play Kat and Mitch together and if no then it won’t fix nothing only when Mitch comes off the bench and if he gets hurt again then the season is in trouble .Ive been a big a Thibs supporter but now I’ve given up faith on him he’s the reason we lost the game the other night because he left the starters in the game even when the game had no doubt who was going to win and if Kat had been taken out earlier he might of played and not missed that game damn when we’re up by 30 some points take the starters out , you won’t bring bench players off the bench so damn the game is one let them rest then !
January was already his set date to return. If Mitch said he got “great” news and not “good” news then his return will be before January

35 minutes of elite front court defense is what is returning. With Mitch and Precious. Kat will mix in plenty of time with them both.
Kat does not have quick lateral movement to guard opposing 4's so the defense still suffers. Having Mitch in the starting lineup clogs up the paint which will impact the offense. You won't see easy baskets from OG or Bridges when they cut to the basket because Robinson's matchup will be there waiting. It's best to have Mitch and KAT share the floor for about 10-15 minutes a game.

This is all worthless unless Leon Rose pushes Thibs to play more then 8 or 9 players. It should be 10 plus players. Also have Mitch Shoot out past 10 feet from basket he needs to be able to draw player out from basket.

Live KAT on offense but at the 5 really hurts our rim protection. I am very eager to see KAT and Mitch together, because i consider Mitch to be an elite rim protector. It may not work matchup wise against every team but it will work for some. Its good to have that flexibility.

Mitch is still a gamble for the long haul!!! Still need a reliable big man as the Ace in the hole just in case Mitch goes down for the count. We must be able to go toe to toe with the Celtics and the Cavs if we want to win the East and represent the Knicks Nation in the Championship game.
I gotta disagree with you Troy. Once the defense in the paint is contained the perimeter defense will fall into place. reason being OG, Bridges and Hart won't have to crash down as much to help out in the paint. Hypothetically Kat and a healthy Mitch/or reliable big man should be able to secure the paint.
