I completely agree, they should be drafting BPA and if the BPA is a point guard in the top 5 of this draft then there’s a very good chance he will be the best point guard on this roster before the end of next season. I do agree with Rafael’s comments about not being the best player if they don’t have room to play/develop, but i also think that doesn’t pertain to Portland. Their young core is pretty well-balanced positionally after trading for Deni and drafting Donovan, and that only applies for teams that have very promising budding stars on their roster, which Portland does not. I think this even applies for Maluach since there are 48 center minutes. If the Blazers end up with two centers who are both able to stay healthy and demand more than 24 minutes per game, that’s a very good problem to have and I’m sure it’s the kind of thing that can be resolved in the trade market if necessary

This trade deadline and summer are potentially going to be sink or swim for the Blazers.
The expansion teams will mess up any deals we want for the vets, and we could be pushed down the draft board as well. It's critical that we get picks and have our vets shipped out by that point. If not, we're screwed.
