The FA aspect is overblown. Currently, the only team that would have enough cap space to sign him at $52.4m (his option) is BKN (WAS are next with low $40s). Both are rebuilding. If he leaves MIA will only be around $10m under cap. HOU would need to incentivise taking on brooks & londale contracts, so extra picks/youngsters to be added. Green has a poison pill (ext), so that would be hard. Mavs will need to include kyrie or klay and others (inc pj) and only have about 1 1st available. MIA don't want klay. GS is workable but would need to sell MIA on Wiggins' contract or compensate. Add compensation for melton, looney and/or gp2. Even with kuminga at least 1 needs to be added. But they do have 1sts available.
LAL would need to include both available 1sts with little to no protections. That is doubtful due to lebron/butler's ages. Although bron for jimmy might work. But Bron probably says no.
DEN, PHX, MIL just no. No one wants MPJ, Beal, Middleton.
MIA will also avoid taking on extra salary as they are around $2m short of the 2nd tier.

Butlers contract will ensure he finishes his basketball career in Miami. I doubt any team is investing 48 million in a 35 year old Butler who is prone to injury.
