Noa, fan ownership in sports is not a bad thing. In Germany it is required by the Bundesliga that teams must be owned by the fans with 50%+1, so that megacorps and others can never fully control a team. This forces fan-friendly prices, profit-sharing, and fan experiences. You can and should look into this a little bit more.
I also felt that the Smart ovation was a little underwhelming- I thought there might a video tribute during the game? I was watching the game on league pass from Australia and did not see one on TV.

Remember that the Celtics were on their 2nd back to back in a week when they played the Grizzlies. I would think that the Grizzlies were aware of that as well as Holiday's age and took a calculated risk. Not an advantage that Memphis would be able to exploit over the NBA Finals.
