THJ has a PER of 8 about. Fontecchio 9. If we quit playing them, we will be a better team. (average PER is 15.) Guys we have who are over 15 in PER are Duren, Reed, Sasser, and Cade. Also, Moore is around 14 – and his defense is so good it really can't all register into his PER. (When he plays, he automatically defends their best player.)
Thompson and Holland are poor on PER, but, they provide defense.
Our coach needs to completely toss his current rotation, and build one around defense, and players who are talented (good PER's)
3 man units (from Hollinger's) show if you pair Harris and THJ, you get a minus 7 rating when adding either Cade or Ivey as the 3rd player. Minus 13 when adding Duren as the 3rd player. Nothing in the data suggests our starting unit makes any sense.
And note, its Hardaway, not Harris, who drags down these 3 man units so bad. (from looking at all the 3 man units, you see a pattern, of always being pretty bad if Hardaway is in it – vs. not so bad if Harris is in it (without Hardaway))
