Refs back at it again…esp against the Warriors man..
We all know you wouldn't have had this same "flow of the game" energy if the Warriors had benefited from a late foul call. And that's a big problem. It makes you yet another clownish pundit instead of a trustworthy source of commentary.
Rockets winning it‼️🚀, stay mad.
Don't forget about Steph getting hammered on the arm–another awful, blatant whistle-swallow that a 5-year-old could see. Which lead to a Houston three-pointer. Massive swing late in the game. Refs decided this game, not the players, don't kid yourself
No, it makes all the difference.

wsp jason long time listener here fan of the show. i have a theory on the evolution of the nba and id love your thoughts on it (disclaimer – it also supports a shai over luka agenda as well as a pro dwhite agenda):
so you know how centers that can protect the rim and space from 3 are an extremely valuable archetype – bc they deter the most valuable shot in the game while also limiting the other teams rim protectors by pulling them out to the 3 point line?? well i think that big 2-way guards are just as valuable in the modern nba
my theory is teams have become extremely advanced attacking mismatches as compared to 10/15 years ago. so its harder to hide your most vulnerable defender which historically has been the smallest one – usually the pg. big guards simultaneously plug that hole defensively and pose a mismatch threat due to their size, even if they arent that skilled (think dyson daniels or marcus smart).
this archetype is even more valuable esp bc we're seeing more lead playmakers at the wing and center positions, which was historically the pgs main skillset/value – now theres less of a need to sacrifice defense for playmaking.
you and sam vecenie have talked a lot abt the importance of ground coverage, but i think it extends to general defensive versatility bc you have to be able to mitigate mismatches in general, as well as rotate to cover for ppl when the offense is successful at getting 2 on the ball.
thats the reason ive preferred shai to luka for the best 2/3 years. not only is the defensive gap huge, shais defensive versatility is worth even more at pg bc pg is the least versatile position.
Draymond needs to work on his shots. It’s ridiculous. Can’t be a bball player and throwing up wild shots like that.
curry is washed
There is a difference between warriors putting themselves into a position to lose. And then there is that call, that was wildly inappropriate in light of what happens literally with GP2 seconds before followed by the contact that earned the Rockets that last call. Nobody is there to watch the refs. And that call literally determined whether a team went on in the tournament. I think the biggest error was GP2 not calling timeout with full possession of the ball. But that foul call was so bad that the rockets thought that it was a timeout call. They didn’t even expect free throws. That’s why it’s so bad. The team it favored was confused.
Agreed with Jason. The dubs didn't deserve to win this game. Turnover/decision making/shot selection/execution were pretty awful especially down the stretch
There were so many turnovers in the Warriors Rocket game.. the most egregious was when Waters just stopped before half court.. 8sec turnover.. no one was on him.. why did he just stopped..
Didn't Podz get fouled on that buzzer beater?

Hey Jason great content you’ve been putting out lately appreciate your takes on the nba this far. Just a fun for you, I know you said Steph is your second favourite player so as a huge Steph fan myself I’m wondering your thoughts on this. If you could put Steph (in his current form) on any team right now and replace their starting pg, how many teams would automatically be a bonafide championship contender? Would it just be the big hitters like boston or okc? Or plenty of more teams? I would love to hear your take as us dubs fans know Steph is still playing at a high level but our roster construction is so mediocre. It would be cool to hear how many teams you think would be contenders proving Steph is still one of the guys if he has a strong roster around him.
I know it’s all hypothetical but fun to discuss! Keep up the great work, greetings from Australia.
Sorry Jason you're incorrect on Steph's FGA
There was a 3 second difference between the game clock and the shot clock….
You eat up 3.5 seconds from the time of a 3PA from Curry to a secured rebound to getting a TO.
Blaming the game on calls is weak sauce
Warriors need to make a trade now. They just need someone that get a bucket. Vucevic is that guy. They need a Swiss army knife 2 guard. Lonzo Ball is that guy.
As a warriors fan that blames the horrible call i do agree on us giving the game away by letting refs decide the outcome. Absolutely terrible
Jason please stop with your hyperbole because your bias for the warriors is showing. The warriors got too cute down the stretch: Curry tried to hit a dagger 3, and lost track of time and score. And Draymond Green had two back-to-back turnovers, so please stop with the foolishness about the warriors got robbed because of the referees
why steph didnt dribble it out and then shoot high so the ball has a few seconds to come down maybe until the buzzer…???!!! i dont get why everyone says that was a good shot or bla bla bla i mean come on
All of you crying about that call need to go back and look at the sequence. The ball would’ve never hit the floor if Looney hadn’t fouled Segun by pulling him by the back of his jersey thus preventing him from getting the rebound. Go ahead and take a look at it then come back here and comment.
Too any GSW fan…. Kevin Durant was out of bounds for several steps and got away with it.
Stole a championship from the Rockets.
No my guy. They didn't get robbed. That was a foul. And that call didn't cost them the game.
Draymond should have gotten a flagrant for the tackle on Sengun.
Rockets showed up. They're on the right track.
You lost me on the ref rant. There's no team in the modern NBA that has had more help from the refs than GS.
Shoot, the last time these two played in Houston GS got 50 something FTs to the Rockets 20.
Maybe the warriors should have payed their monthly bribery payment to the league so they can keep getting all that favoritism. Oh well
I'm pissed off that it costed us a game in the standings.
Jason is the best by far in my opinion. Steph Fandom clouding the judgement a bit but I'll give him a pass. Should have milked the clock. There was a 3 sec difference between game and shot clock.
NBA is rigged. its scripted. Refs got paid.
NBA is rigged. its scripted. Refs got paid.
GSW getting more smaller players does not help with the physicality at all. but GSW likes it so let them get more 6 ft guys all the way from 1-15 so they lose more
A loose ball foul that put you in the penalty when you're only up by 1? Oh the injustice!!
Mailbag: Do you think Peyton Pritchard's leap is legit?
Jason I agree that the poor ref call at the end was not why the Warriors lost, but it is why the Rockets won. Have enjoyed your show for the past couple of years, keep up the good work.
Kominga virtually punched the player on the ground – good call!
As a warriors fan I think Vucevic is the best choice for a trade. Cause we've been missing size for so long, and we have Draymond Green so we don't need him to be the anchor in the middle of the defense. And he's a really good screener at his size which would be super nice to have Steph and Buddy running around.
Looney fouled Sengun on the last possession for the ball to be loose in the first place good on Bill Kennedy for calling that foul
Rockets weren't even guarding Draymond on the wing on that missed Steph three. There was a perfect opportunity for a late DHO with Draymond.
That’s Jabari he is talking about in the LeBron situation and also it’s still LeBron he talking about.
If anything I’d say that treating it as a media product rather than just officiating the rules consistently and objectively is the problem. The games change week by week in how they are officiated meaning we get all this complaining and the main problem is the entertainment factor – the excessive performance of ejections and hard whistles and even offensive fouls is just the refs thinking they are responsible for shaping the entertainment, instead just officiate by the rules and let the competition and skills of the players create entertainment.
Mailbag: I have a question about Goga Bitadze. It's no secret that when everyone is fit at Orlando Magic, he will go back to the 3rd unit and rarely gonna get any minutes. Do you consider him as starting a calibre centre or at least the second option in the league. If so, where would be the best place for him to go, in a potential trade. I'm his country man and following his career very closely. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work
Stop talking trash here dude. It was a blatant foul, kuminga wrapped his hand around Jalen’s neck & shoulder with no chance of reaching for the ball. It was a wrong hustle play by him. The refs can call fouls at any point in the game, whether at beginning or towards the end, and whether they have previously allowed physical contact that could have resulted in fouls or not. If Steve Kerr was so sure it wasn’t a foul why didn’t he challenged the call. What was he holding his challenge card for? Kerr knew it was a foul, He dishonestly resorted to sharing crocodile tears after losing the game. Well deserved victory for the young Rockets.
Man, the crying from you and Kerr is ridiculous
Bloodbath?
Obviously you never played street ball or watched basketball in the '80s and '90s
The crying is really unseemly
Don't know who this dude is but he absolutely has no idea about basketball.
Warriors fan here, as bad of a call that was at the end and not calling the foul when Fred landed on gp2, this was a self inflicted loss. Way too many turn overs and shot clock violations, missed free throws, and poor execution.
Bad, stupid take. If Steph had better clock management and misses, and there's a scrum… then it's over with no time on the clock.
