How Orlando Magic Can Learn from Bucks Defeat

How Orlando Magic Can Learn from Bucks Defeat

The Orlando Magic showed resilience and their identity in an NBA Cup loss against the Milwaukee Bucks. In their second game since Franz Wagner’s injury, the Magic again showed their resolve and that they will not be a pushover. More than that, they showed they can win.

But little plays throughout the game cost them and Damian Lillard made the plays down the stretch to ice the game and send themselves to Las Vegas and the Orlando Magic home. A critical lesson for the Magic before the Playoffs.

  1. I feel like Suggs has tried to take the game over the last two games and I thought he did pretty well at it, especially tonight. How do you see him progressing?

  2. What do we do with Cole Anthony? He is really disappointing..WCJ also offensively struggles under the basket. He can’t gather himself quickly enough. Can we package them somewhere for a talented guard? One that can create, shoot and pass?

  3. I can't complain about Jalen tonight. He did what he could. The little things might matter but I notice the effect of his absence on the team when he went down. That was a full panic that led to the Bucks taking a sizable run. This team can't afford more bad news so I'm glad that he's okay. He's been courageous for the team as a leader every bit as much as the other two have been.

Aside from this the team is still growing and I'm loving how Mose has them all getting stuck in. Good thing we have a string of homers coming because we could really do with a break.

Edit: 15/25 is 60% so 15/24 is higher. Anyhow we did really good on Giannis and if JI were there he'd be sweating all game.

  4. Jalen Suggs if you read these comments THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for your heart, thank you for your hustle, thank you for caring!!! You’re a really good basketball player but you seem to be an even better person. THANK YOU!!!

  5. As a Bucks fans you guys have a powerhouse on your hands. The Magic fully healthy will make some noise for years to come! Respect 💪🏾

  6. Well if the org insists on running the show through Suggs and Black then I would say it's just another example of this front office and their never ending quest to be the best at evaluation rather than development. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I had to edit my splits below when I realized my tables might have rounding errors and then realized I wasn't even accounting for deviations in volume. Didn't make much of a difference. I like the idea of game to game splits thought.

Don't worry I'm still tracking my regular stats with some new ones added. I'll be back with them another day. Today I thought we might play a game of choose your player based on the stats. Shall we?

  7. I don’t think it’s appropriate to say your team has “a culture” unless you’ve had that “culture for 10 years”. More likely you have a good coach or good players/a good team.

Nuggets were saying “Nuggets culture” the year after they won and that was a joke. They have Nikola Jokic & when he’s gone they’ll be bad again

  8. Honestly, what happened to Cole Anthony? I wanted him to get more time because he was buckets before. Dude has seemingly been missing everything lately. Now, I cant complain that we haven't seen much of him.
