Thunder fan here- this will stop Luka from putting up a ton of points and assists but it will naturally create an a 4-3 advantage for the mavs. There has been plenty of discussion about the PJ Washington element, the main reason why he keeps cooking okc is because of this advantage. Hell Marshall had 19 in this game. I would love too see okc mix up their defensive schemes against Luka and Dallas. Keep them on their toes. The Thunder did not have such success in the playoffs last year employing this scheme exclusively (albeit they’re more equipped to play it this year with IHart and better athleticism throughout). A mixing of coverage schemes I think would do them wonders
OKC is the top defense in the league. Other teams would potentially struggle with this strategy, and it wasn’t until the 3rd quarter when Dort was playing him straight up that the Thunder built their lead.
Hey… less about OKC more about Luka having a shit game. The 4th best defence in the league is the Warriors and Luka just gave them 45/11/13 3 steals two blocks. That's on Luka. Not OKC.
