  1. so no one gonna mention the fact that the COACHES and telling people to shoot. stop training people to shoot and play big in the paint. thats across all levels. cant be 7'3 only grabbing 9 boards with less than 33% from 3rs.

  2. I don’t think I’ve watched 1 game this season. Seen a few highlights on YouTube and that’s pretty much it.

  3. It is a problem when not all of them are like these guys who can really shoot those shots but still shoot it and look like they're bricklayers out there. Just like what Windy said, there needs to be a balance , especially if you are a team who's really not that great of a 3 shooter.

  4. So the overweight guy is crying that the game is evolving. Wow who could of predicted that overtime, NBA players realise that shooting the 3 is more practical and has a lower risk of injuries than anything else

  5. Dont be mad cuz teams and players got shots and it doesn't matter they tale it to the hole and its a foul or not when it is f all that bust a 3

  6. I'm an old head hoops fan who watched the NBA from the 80s onward. OK, yes, 3 is greater than 2, but if your team isn't a great 3pt shooting team, play to your strengths! 3 >2, but 2>0. Get buckets in whatever way your team does it best. If that means in the paint and midrange, then thats how you should be playing! Alot of these games are unwatchable.

  7. Literally everyone just walks it up and chucks it these days. There’s little flow, there’s little real movement, and any type of defense that is attempted is a foul.

  8. It has had a trickle down effect on the youth. All they do is jack up threes even before they learn to actually shoot. If they hit one out of ten then they feel that they don’t need to learn how to shoot. Has made coaching a nightmare

  9. You know the saying. “No s@#* Sherlock!” Fans have been saying this FOR YEARS. It’s why ratings are going downhill, it’s a boring product!

  10. I say make the last two mins of 1st and 3rd quarter 4pts and push 3 back five feet. And eliminate that spacing foul

  11. I've only been talking about the 3pt problem since 2016. Bring post play back. Bring middys back. Bring physical defense back. Make basketball fun again.

  12. I always thought Zion would dominate the paint because there's no real big man in the paint anymore.

  13. a hard fought defensive game with both teams scoring under 100 pts is 100% better to watch than a 3 point shooting contest 10 out of 10 times

  14. It's very simple. Seeing dunks and players dunking on eachother is more entertaining then step back 3's all day. ITS NOT ENTERTAINING

  15. What about dem refs they are the worse getting superstars ejected and stuff sometimes for nothing

  16. The three is not the problem. The problem is everyone thinks they are Steph. And some players force those shoots up. They should only be certain players allowed to be able to shoot those when they are clear.

    Centers shouldn’t be shooting 3s

And some teams are terrible so they make the game boring.

  17. We got to look at the bigger picture, now we see how it changed did curry change the game for the better or worst?

  18. Ratings down 24% from last year every other sports league putting up personal records

  19. The solution is simple but the NBA will never do it… makes 2s worth 3 points and make 3s worth 4. Right now the 3 is worth 50% more points than the 2 and that is just too much. Shooting an NBA average 36% from 3 results in a lot more points per attempt than shooting an NBA average 46.5% from 2. Making the 3 pointer only worth 33% more than 2s would result in a much more balanced game. If you want total balance, you can also move the line back 8-12 inches.

  20. When you are making so much money, shooting 3s is the right financial decision compared to driving to the basket and facing a higher risk of injury. That doesn't make it more entertaining from a fan's perspective, but I understand. It has the same root problem as the all-star game.

  21. That why I stopped watching the NBA is now just shot 3 all night no skill need anymore. Just shoot the 3 they GSW ruined basketball because that all they do and have done for close to a decade now.

  22. Stop with all this BS about too many 3’s. The simple reason is that it’s the best strategy to win period. Isn’t that the main goal? If you want highlights and entertainment then go watch a movie. If you’re a true fan of the game you appreciate the evolution of the game and strategy to win.

Basketball analytics emphasize the expected value of a shot, which is calculated as:

EV = Shot Value × Probability of Success
    • A 3-point shot is worth 50% more than a 2-point shot.
    • Even if a player shoots 35% from 3-point range (which is average), the EV is:
    0.35 × 3 = 1.05 points per attempt
    • Comparatively, a player must shoot at least 50% on 2-pointers to achieve the same EV:
    0.50 × 2 = 1.00 points per attempt

This mathematical advantage incentivizes teams to prioritize 3-pointers, even with slightly lower accuracy. Over the course of a game, taking 3s generates more points.

  23. put a limit per team 40 attempts that's 10 a quarter once u go over 40 if u take a three the basket doesn't count and it's a 1 shot technical foul that will slow down the threes
