mavs ain't that bad at defense, it's just their offense is so dynamic that it overshadows anything they ever try to do on D. they will continue to have that commentary in the media no matter what they do. their biggest hole is that they don't have a legit backup for pj. it's such a noticeable flaw every time he has to sit out. it's like their tenacity on the defensive end is no where to be found. he provides that spark for them and there's no one on the bench that can do the same. not saying everyone else is wack, it's just so apparent when washington sits.
Dallas is 10th is defense. Luka has the best defensive rating in the league…..

The fact that you're asking about a championship or bust for the Mavericks is ridiculous, the guy who says Luka will never break the triple-double record doesn't know what he's talking about. Last game Luka scored 12,000 points and he achieved that in 419 games, which is the second fastest and best record of all time behind Michael Jordan, he's also currently 7th on the all-time triple-doubles list and this is just the beginning of his seventh season and he has 80 triple-doubles by now, so don't ever say that because you're biased and ridiculous. Russell Westbrook is in his 17th season, and Luka is in his 7th season. Russell has 200 triple-doubles, and Luka has 80, so that's a 10-season difference. If he wanted to break Russell's current record, Luka has more than enough time, and if he continues to play the way he is playing now, he will easily break Russell's record to the end of his career including those Russell will still achieve.

Even after being top 2 defense the whole 2nd half last year, making the Finals, being top 10 this year….still going with the narrative that Dallas is a bad defensive team.
