All team sports outside the USA have league games and cups. They are respected by their fans and media. I can understand the NBA fans not being informed and being sceptical about the cup as its new but I do not understand the media's lack of interest and scepticism. I'd assume that you get into sport media because of your love for sport and that extends beyond USA sports (Basketball, American Football and baseball) and therefore shouldn't be this difficult to understand the value of cups during the season.
