Mr Leon Rose and the NY Knicks have "outsmarted* the Timberwolves by getting "KAT" that makes the Knicks more "powerful". As for the Timberwolves getting Randle & Donte make their team bad, they couldn't make it to the NBA. playoffs.
Trading Towns wasn't the issue. He blew hot and cold throughout the playoffs, and went missing against Dallas. The Wolves were ready to move on. Trading him for Randle , however, was an awful mistake. Anyone with eyes could tell you Randle is a deeply flawed player, a classic empty calorie scorer who doesn't belong on a serious contender. Surely there must have been a different trade package available from another team, or they should have kept Towns until someone made one, They still had time.
This was a trade for Minnesota's long term future. They would have been financially handcuffed with Towns and he was not going to get them over the top. Sure, it would have been better to get off the Rudy contract but who in their right mind was going to take him on? This was a necessary trade and I think Julius and Donte are a pretty good return for Towns. It is still early in the season. Last year at this time, Wolves weren't looking great so keep that in mind.
They should just bench Randle and start Naz at this point Naz is basically the closest to KAT in this team he got good shooting and defense and doesn't need to largely dominate the ball
They should’ve never hired Tim Conley bc he ruined this team after the 2022 playoffs ended he traded for Rudy instead of running it back with the original roster and btw we had walker Kessler literally Rudy 2.0 we should’ve never hired this guy he’s an overrated gm just bc he drafted jokic doesn’t make him a genius bc no one thought jokic was going to be that good let’s be fr.
WHY THE FCK IS RUDY STILL ON THE TEAM WE TRADE KAY BUT NOT RUDY THE ONE FCKING MRON WHO KEEPS STARTING SHT FIGHTS ON OUR TEAM AND CAMT EVEN FINISH LIKE ANY OTHER NORMAL BOG MAN IN CENTER HOW THE FCK DOES THIS MAN MISS SO MANY ALLOY OPS
Trading KAT because they wanted to bet on Naz Reid is crazy. You have a superstar duo that is now starting to learn how to win in the playoffs and completely break it off because you think Naz Reid will become the next thing (when you already have an all-star bigman). I hope Ant forces their hand to trade Gobert because he is a god-awful offensive player. Now he has Randle who is a shot chucker and doesn't care about winning
It’s still Rudy fault but he the only player in the rotation besides Conley who doesn’t even have a backup.. Garza doesn’t play and Naz is 6’9.. why is everyone so blind
anthony edwards is averging the same amount of points as last year….actually slightly less on a lower field goal percentage and thats with shooting way more 3's. make it make sense. And he's still a average passer playmaker. He's overrated. He's not that guy. Trading KAT was about long term financial stability. KAT is very good and always been 1 of my favorite players but he is a disaster in the playoffs. Last year he was awful vs dallas and had some spotty moments before that. You cant pay him like he's a top 10 player when he's so inconsistent in the playoffs. it is what it is.
With the current CBA, their only two choices were to either blow it up this year or next year. But being all-in as they were after the Gobert trade, they had to realize that running it back this year was their best chance for a title. They were contenders NOW – this was a time to worry about winning, not salary.
I think Connelly talked himself into believing that he could get a "competitive rebuild" out of this trade. The fit with Randle was always questionable, but with his basically-expiring contract, he saw it as a low risk "if it works, keep him, if it doesn't, oh well" type of move. Hasn't worked out that way. DDV was the piece he wanted to keep. He wanted DiVincenzo in free agency before the 23-24 season, and when Donte went off after Randle and OG went down, he surely thought of him as the one that got away. This made him the perfect mark for the Knicks to sell high on DDV. Prior to last season, he was a slightly-above-average, but not GREAT rotational wing. Regression was inevitable, though I don't think anyone could have expected him to be as bad as he has been (except for maybe Kings fans).
Another problem is that Finch has been a scheme mismatch for the roster ever since the Gobert trade. There's a way to construct a good offense with Gobert on your team (the Jazz were consistently able to take advantage of his screen-and-roll ability and hide his lack of other offensive gifts). However, the flow offense just does not work with this roster. It wasn't great even WITH KAT on it, and now that they don't have his shooting and gravity to cover up the lack of creativity and productive ball movement, it's become one of the worst offenses in the league. (Also, Finchy's rotation choices, particularly in the closing minutes of games, have been absolutely abysmal).
I have maybe watched two full games after the trade I watch’s the first game and like the 5th game never watched again dumbest fcking trade the wolves have ever made
You’re dumb, Wolves dumb, 2 power forwards don’t make a center.. trade Gobert 30 million for a 20 million and a 10 million center.. Claxton and Valaciunas
They had two legit superstars, I would have trades Rudy's goofy ass and some other assets in a heartbeat to keep Kat and Ant together…Im kinda psst now.
The Minnesota timberwolves had issues in the playoffs and not trading gobert is a mistake. And now Minnesota made another KG career in KAT he might win a chip on the knicks
I said it when they made the trade, this was the dumbest trade I've seen a professional team make. Not just in basketball, in all of professional sports. You get rid of a guy that's shooting over 40% from deep thats also a true 7ft that can rebound and play solid defense as well, for a guy that's 6'9" and oft injured and maybe has 1 or 2 seasons with averaging double digit boards for the season. Also, the guy has never been efficient at any point in his career. He's always been a volume scorer and thats tough to integrate into a new team especially when that team has a ball dominant guard taking the bulk of the shots. If Ant-man was as good as he is the Timberwolves would have sank a long time ago.
Just from these few highlights it looks like Donte is falling out of his jumper. In NY he was landing and holding for a split second before heading back on defense, this year these highlights show he is basically heading back on defense when he’s still in the air. He’s probably just anxious in his new spot. He will fall in I’m sure, these guys are pros.
Yes it's tuffer for Minnesota, but Towns wasn't going to get them over the hump either. Kat is like Harden. Awesome regular season, but disappears come playoffs
Idk how nobody seems to understand the way SALARY CAP works but bro they genuinely could not afford it between just gobert, mcdaniels, kat and ants new contracts starting up they would have been over the second apron they literally had to do something

People can't wait till we lose and make the same type of video same type of videos that were just made before we went 7/8
I don't agree
put on rob and their offense issue is fixed
Problem with Randle and DiVi is that they dont want in a small market team

This is going to happen a lot with the new CBA rules. The new deal pretty much killed the Wolves and Nuggets.

Come back to this comment in the next 3 years ANTHONY EDWARDS WILL ASK FOR A TRADE
Look at ant crying, there is no lane. Imagine playing with Shaq and Samaki Walker at the same time😂. Or with Gasol and Bynam. Or Mihm and Kwame. 😂
Relax, They are going to get rid of Randle. Wolves looking long term.
I never understood this trade. I remember saying WTF out loud when I saw the news. 🤷🏾♂️
Obviously it should have been Capela Claxton Zubac or Jarrett Allen for RUDY GOBERT! They were all available over the summer but it’s too late now
Timber Wolves Failed

I think they need to bring Randle off the bench and start Naz Reid because Randle thinks he’s the man but his not.

Rudy will be outplayed by any NBA level center but Wolves refuse to even let another 7fter try.. this is Rudy franchise

How in the world could the Wolves have good defensive numbers with him on the bench if it also means they HAVE to play small ball??

Randle makes the team worse. He’s only good on regular season and gets exposed in the play offs.
Rudy is the problem and having no center AT ALL when he is on the bench is elementary school problem solving

They thought Anthony Edward’s was gonna carry the load

Knicks fan here , Randle is a good player but he does stupid things , when he’s on fire he is great , but when he’s not , omg it’s bad .
But but but . . . ANT is the new face of the league, right? That's what they've been telling us.
They had two legit superstars, I would have trades Rudy's goofy ass and some other assets in a heartbeat to keep Kat and Ant together…Im kinda psst now.
Randle needs the ball ant needs the ball it’s just a bad fit

By ‘stamp in this game’ it means bricking every shot that you can build the second coming of the duomo. I hope they trade naz Reid to Dallas,
Ant is overrated

Donte is struggling with his shot to but to call him a negative when all of our top performing line-ups have him in it is factually inaccurate.
How to self destroy in ONE offseason
