Look… im no man worthy of questioning Nico… ALL HAIL… but this doesnt feel right!
OKay, so AGAIN….they need a backup to PJ. He is going to miss games, get into foul trouble, and have off nights. If you bring in someone who can't guard a guy as big as the undersized PF we already have, then our defense is fucked in those games. Naji CAN NOT guard big 4s and 5s. Last time I checked, OKC and Boston have 7'2-7'3 4s/5s who will have to be guarded at times in regular matchup or on switches. That also means battling them for rebounds and scoring over them. I would love a consistent 18-20ppg scorer in the offense to make the Mavs even more explosive, but if the same pick is giving up 15-25ppg and getting in foul trouble trying to guard people, you're just treading water. I'd rather have a 6'9-6'10 230-240lb POWER FORWARD who can guard a little on the perimeter and rebound consistently but be Maxi level of scoring. I don't want a guy sharing time with Klay and Naji (who already don't get enough time every game).
Cam Johnson for a 1st, Hardy, Maxi, (if needed, Markeif, Powell), 1-2, 2nds….and Nico should be leading candidate for GM of the year.
Not interested, nor do we have the assets for cam. All things considered, we don’t…really…need anyone else at this time. The Mavs CAN get to the WCF this year with THIS team. If we can get to the WCF, I like Luka and Kyrie in the backcourt more than anyone that isn’t the Boston Celtics.

NOOOOOO. If we’re getting a maxi replacement and upgrade on a bargain then the only logical answer LARRY NANCE JR. If we’re gone go all out using our pics and movable players then the one player I keep saying that NOBODY is mentioning is not only a pelican who’s value is in the basement, but he’s also a perineal allstar in different situation and that’s Brandon Ingram. Brandon Ingram would be the starting 4, which would make us even deeper with PJ off the bench. The pelicans don’t want BI and nobody seems to want him either. We can buy low, give up all the movable assets if needed and the dynasty will be locced with this roster. BI ca play small ball 5, defend the perimeter and the paint , shoot the 3, put the ball on the floor, make the right pass and he’s used to not being the first or second option. The starting line up would be
Luka, Kai, Klay, BI, Lively
Spence,QG,Naji, PJ, Gafford
2 LETHAL 5 man lineups and the only team on that level would be the Celtics who are more top heavy and not as deep as us. I can’t think of another team who be able to say that 1-10 are all starting caliber players on a contending teams. The brandon Ingram pic is my pipe dream and it’s relative to what we’d have to give up to get him. If it’s as low as I think then of course, but if not the Larry nance is still a perfect option to bac up pj and up grade maxi. We’re still arguably the deepest team in the league and having Larry be the consistent option where maxi has not been would push us over the top either way. Like aren’t we tired of saying thing like every person in the line up scored double digits except maxi? Or everyone was hot from 3 except maxi? Larry fixes that easily, especially with as many facilitators this team has. You don’t get 9 double figures without having a lot of people who can make the right pass. Larry will only add in spades where maxi takes is a deficit….. So Larry nance for the bargain piece that solidifies us, or Brandon Ingram as the piece that could create a dynasty. Both are players that are wasting away in their franchises
We need to stop entertaining the idea of trades that will NEVER happen. This one isn't as unrealistic as the Butler trade scenario, but the Mavs really don't have the ammunition to pull off a trade for anyone of note. Players like Obi Toppin are at least somewhat realistic trade targets.
Don't forget Exum will be back eventually. Once he gets back, it will be like the Mavs made a trade without losing anything in return. I don't expect big production from Exum, but it's just another player on the roster who is versatile and can do a little of everything.

…… thinking the price is too much….. with Quent, Jaden is expendable now and worth something…. a FRP? gonna be so low it will be another chip to swap. Replaces Maxi? hmmmmmm….. no! Losing O-Max? … that would be the worst outcome! Cam Coming off the bench? I doubt it and that would be a change in chemistry…. Have to say, of all the people available out there, Cam is about at the top of my list…. active, long, shooter, power inside, smart, 28, and great attitude…. But i don't see Nico emptying the cabinet to bring in one guy…..
like me and so many other mavs fans have been saying, its time to bring dfs home. its not much of a sacrifice on defense, but it opens up the offense more

Get Jonas Valanciunas, he is a bargain. and the Mavs will have a big man to deal with the bullies and be productive at the same time. The skinny will have more time to rest on the bench when things got ugly specially during the playoffs season.

Not a fan of Johnson we got Klay for that role. Butler too old and too expensive. Jones would be a great fit but we would have to give up too much. Unless Maxi, Morris, Powell & Hardy plus 1st round pick would get him. Toppin i like alot great Defender with great athletic skills. Or DOE he knows our system and plays well with Luka. Sure there are others. As long as we only include Maxi, Morris, Powell, Exum, Picks and for a better player include Hardy if necessary. But I just think in a few years Hardy and OMax will be top 8 type players for many teams. I also think Edwards has upside as well.

1. Stay as we are, and just try make maxi reach his peak again.
2. Trade for someone better than maxi.
3. Maybe start looking in other places, like g league, euro o something like that to replace maxi.

No go get a player off the buyout market.. look at potential buyout players id go for a 3-d wing and a 4 who can play the 5 or a 5 who can shoot a little if mans do that they will for sure get top the finals. If they don’t i think they have a chance to get bsck to the finals but its not a for sure thing. I hope they do the right thing

Grimes is better trade hardy and kleber for him.
