Randleās āsuccessā in New York was the result of Thibs making him the focal point of his offensive schemes. Good luck trying to bench him.
As a knicks fan i was never a huge fan of Randle, especially after a playoff series vs hawks some years back. You cannot question his scoring ability and he did give NY an all star type player when no one wanted to come, that's all true, he is a good player, but to me, he annoyed me more than anything, defensively mainly, just not the type of player I like. His best stint with the Knicks was last year before injury, he really was playing well when OG came over, I have to admit. When this trade happened i was more hurt about losing Donte though.
Man feels good to know other people see Randle for what he is a selfish ball stopping no defense player, yes he has talent yes he can score whenever he wants but he doesnāt play team ball and doesnāt play real defense just look at the Knicks vs Heat 2023 semifinals series where he consistently chucks up stupid 3ās and fails to get back on defense and when Jalen Brunson tries to facilitate and get him involved he doesnāt return the favor or use to drive me and other Knicks fans wild to the point they ripped his posters down after the heat elimination the Knicks smfh so thrilled heās not a Knick anymore
I still canāt believe we fleeced the wolves with Randle lol love the guy but heās a black hole on offense and plays zero defense – the least impactful 20ppg youāll ever see – enjoy lol

The problem is Julius Randle doesnāt fit anywhere heās another carmelo Anthony play only one on one and no defense at all š
It's his defense. The Wolves can continue to refine and work with Randle's offensive skill set. It's the laziness on defense that puts everyone out of position and breaks everything down.
Knick fan here, Randle is a MADDENING player. His ebs and flows alongside his bipolar behavior as a teammate soured tons of us during his time here.
It's simple. When he is scoring and getting iso touches, he is happy. If ANYONE else is hot or going off, he seems to get insanely JEALOUS. He has had tense moments with his own teammates, and coaches that paint him in a very bad light.
trade randle for tyler herro and klove. Naz Reid will blow up as a starter.
