Jeff Teague, DJ Wells, and B Hen react to Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond both getting ejected by the same ref in yesterday’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the San Antonio Spurs. Drummond’s ejection was reviewed, and reversed, allowing him to come back into the game with a flopping foul being charged to Victor Wembanyama. Embiid was ejected shortly after, and in the ref report after the game, admitted that Embiid should not have been ejected either. Are refs interjecting into the game too much? Should the refs be more lenient in the modern game?

Yes the refs made the wrong call but they did the right thing making up for it bringing Drummond back in the game. Embiid is a cry baby, he knew he was gonna get tossed for that reaction and for him to pull that giving the state of their season was a terrible move. Especially when Embiid is only playing half the games to start with, just go out there and hoop.

They be putting in work blocking, breaking up passes, forcing fumbles, telling players what they're supposed to be doing in game situations (like diving just outside of the endzone instead of scoring a touchdown in-order to run out the clock for a game winning FG) and all types of stuff 🤣

Clearly a lot of y’all have never been refs. There is a line you have to draw with players to control the emotions of the game. It’s not as easy as fans and players think it is. You are still human at the end of the day and some ppl forget that. Are the more sensitive refs than others YES but as a player and coach you have to understand who’s refing the game and how the how the game is being called. I had players spit at me, throw a ball at my face, curse me out of course, and even tried to bring a gun in the gym to attack me. Y’all think these refs are sensitive but I dare some of y’all deal with that type of shit and never have any emotion. Players cry and try to fight other players because someone said something disrespectful to them but expect refs to take disrespect no matter what. Respect the game or get out! I’m a hooper and never have I ever went as far as Joel. Yes play the game with emotions but your emotions have to be controlled point blank period
