The Phoenix Suns today introduced a $2 value menu that will offer Suns fans five popular food and beverage items – hot dogs, chips, popcorn, fountain soda and Dasani water – for $2 each. With the new $2 value menu, fans can enjoy all five items for a total of $10 – the most affordable, fan-friendly menu in the NBA.
“We put the fan experience at the forefront of everything we do,” said Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury owner Mat Ishbia. “The value menu is another investment in our fans and provides options for everyone, ensuring our fans have the best gameday experience in the NBA.”
The $2 value menu, available at concession locations throughout the arena, will feature popular food and beverage items at a significant price reduction, including hot dogs and Dasani water reduced by 77% in cost. The menu also features $2 fountain soda (reduced 69%), bag of chips (reduced 71%) and bag of popcorn (reduced 71%).

That's cheaper than the concessions at UT-Martin games.
I remember 10 beer night in Cleveland.

That's creditable work by this guy. Good on 'im. The only possible downside is more jokes from Charles Barkley…
Brodie. Costco sells a bigger hot dog than any pro sports team & includes the fountain drink for $1.50. Doubt the Suns are losing any money charging $4.
$8.50 for a water!!??
Good. Stadium food in general is ridiculously overpriced. Let’s hope this is a trend.
Arizona Diamondbacks had a Value Menu for years with a more affordable option. It is possible the Phoenix Suns is trying the same idea the Arizona Diamondbacks implemented. The value menu at all home Arizona Diamondbacks games are $2.99 with a choice of a hot dog, corn dog, popcorn, or a 16 ounce soda. Arizona Diamondbacks did have a $4 beer that was discontinued.
Math:
$9 to $2 can't be the same % discount as $8.50 to $2
(9-2)/9*100=77.778
(8.5-2)/8.5*100=76.471
Eh, close enough. Good for them to discount food. Tickets are enough as it is.
Atlanta United & the Atlanta Falcons did this first back in 2017 and called it "Fan First Pricing". I had expected it to send shockwaves through concession stands at American sports events, but that never happened. I'm glad the Suns are doing this as it definitely makes someone more likely to attend a game.
I can commend the Suns or the arena (not sure if they are the same entity or not) for this. The trend seems to have started with with the Utah Hockey Club and I hope it continues to spread. When I take my family to Devils games, I intentionally plan my meals outside of the arena – not only is arena food ridiculously expensive, but quite frankly, it’s lousy. The Devils once had a $1 hotdog cart that roamed the concourse of the Brendan Byrne Arena (you needed to find them and hope they hadn’t sold out) but those days are long gone.
I do wonder if the Footprint Center operates its own concessions or outsources them. With companies such as Aramark and Levy running many venue concessions, all venues may not have this option.
They make their money back somewhere. Keep an eye on those ticket prices and contracts for TV coverage to make up any difference.
CAN THE SUNS DO THIS… FOREVER, NOW?

They are following Arthur Blank's model at Mercedes-Benz in Atlanta in which the most popular items were set set at no more than $5 and they immediately made more money than when the prices were jacked up.
I can't see the A's doing this in Vegas. With a small capacity and a lot premium seating, they'll have high prices like the rest of the Strip. Oh, can't forget the high union wages for workers. Still want to see the $15 seats promised the Nevada politicians. More lies by this horrible organization.
I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the Lakers and Celtics average prices!! $596? I haven't been to a Celtics game in Boston since…2007? We were 7 rows from the Celtics bench, and the ticket price was $125. WOW! Lakers are at $702 on average. I saw the Celtics play the Lakers in the Staples Center back in 2003. My ticket was maybe $45, but it was in the upper deck. Guess I need a new income….HAHa. The $2 menu items, LOVE IT! Not sure it should be ALL concessions, but LOVE that even more! Just WOW again on the ticket prices!!
Look at Minnesota Twins Target Field and their Walleye on a Stick
Arthur Blank has done something like this at Mercedes Benz stadium, but I think he did it across the board, I know he said it's the most affordable in the NFL. I'm pretty sure nothing is $2, but I'm not sure, haven't looked at the menu in a bit.
This is such a good look. Just make it easy to go to the game.
Brodie I cannot WAIT for your video about Dave Kaval
Mercedes-Benz stadium started the trend. Happy others are following suit. It’s great for all involved!
Hi brodie
I like your videos. You did a video on the Phoenix sun's and there food cost. Ryan Smith owner of the utah jazz and utah hockey club did the same thing with pricing way before the sun's
I believe Atlanta Falcons did the value deal first
That’s definitely more affordable for people who don’t want to spend a whole lot. I hope it goes well.
You can get two upper deck tickets to next Saturday's game for $17 each. This is all about filling the arena and creating an atmosphere, with the added benefit of making it affordable for fans. Nobody wants to pay $1500 to sit court side in an empty arena. Ishbia also wants to create the largest base of fans he can, you never know when someone will one day be able to afford the higher end items, another good example of this is his Over the Air TV deal.
