Coach lee reminds me of the “this is fine” meme. Like ik he trying to keep things positive but we playing so bad right now and he is acting like its no big deal.
everyone calm down, its new coach new owners, new everything. We arent supposed to be winning right now. We are supposed to be growing chemistry and developing players, or making moves to grab winners. we got rid of terry rozier and pj washington, we are gonna struggle to score and build a new identity when those 2 were such a anchor for us during the gordon hayward contract years. All the players that leave charlotte tend to play better because they arent asked to carry so much weight on other teams. On other teams you can fit a role and sharpen your tools that make your team better. The hornets have a fresh base to literally test everything with these young guys. These games arent meant to be won or dominated, they are meant to build a dominant play style with the talent we have, and find the holes and gaps that need to be replaced in the team. OKC is young but a winning program because theyve bought into their young core, OKC front office been rebuilding since they got rid of kd and russ, they are sitting pretty over there because they developed their young talent in russ kd harden adams, and they got a first hand look at how to manage their team. KD snaked them, thats when they knew that had to manage their team accordingly and protect their assets. All we have to do is let our young guys get more minutes, get in the swing of things, find the momentum of travel and speed of play, and let them find out for themselves what promotes winning, what adds value to a winning team, how to play the correct role, how to mature in the league. Because ultimately we dont want anymore horrible contract days of the past. seeing paul george get that at the 76ers, our old gordon hayward contract. the deng contract with lakers, etc. As long as management doesnt fuk our team with some bullshit max deals to a player who doesnt give a d about the hornets or winning then we will be fine. Stop expecting wins, find the wins within the development etc.
side note: I really like Wong, I really like Salaun, but they have to show way more aggressiveness. It might not be in their character to be aggressive, i know they play hard, but they need to find a edge to them that is confidence related and maturity, thats what i hope for them.
Salaun has that big frame and seems a bit of a floater on the court sometimes, and someone needs to remind him how big he is. With 30 minutes of play he should be fighting and clawing his way into 10 rebound area, or fouling out trying.
