Domantas Sabonis reacts to his Kings firing Mike Brown as coach, Doug Christie stepping-in

Domantas Sabonis speaks to reporters at Saturday morning’s shootaround in Los Angeles about the firing of Mike Brown as Kings head coach the day before, what the vibe around his team has been since Brown’s dismissal, seeing Doug Christie step-in as Sacramento’s interim head coach and hoping to return from an illness to play later that night against the Lakers after missing the previous game – a loss to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday to raise the losing streak to five games.

  1. You know, I get that I'm an old soul in a world where that doesn't count any more. But I want someone (ANY one) to stand up for this man and say, "You know, we were a dumpster fire of an organization. The league did not want us any more. They tried to MAKE the owner sell the team to another city. We had NO success in like 30 years. Mike comes in and brings excitement. (The whole hit the beam, light the beam, or whatever it was. That was nonexistent). We were competing and it was fun again." Anything like that would have been good. The man literally got DISCARDED and everyone is like, "oh, well." Well, everyone except an opposing coach in Mike Malone. Give him his props, but how scary is that?
