Knicks are Switching Offensive Strategies and It Does Not Work

Against the Magic, Knicks were utilizing Hart in every action when the defensive strategy was to put the Center on Hart. Against the Wizards it was the same defensive strategy but the Knicks used Hart as a corner spacer multiple times. It seems clear that involving Hart as an initiator of the offense or as a screener is beneficial, solely by just dragging the rim protector out.

  1. As a dumbass and paranoid knicks fan, the thought of Thibs' coaching staff not pointing stuff like this out to him keeps me up at night 😂 jokes aside I'm sure they are and loved your takes

  2. This is a theory I have, do you think Thibs is intentionally running sets that don’t having the highest degree of success to improve these areas of weakness? Is it possible he’s using a lesser team like the Wizards to iron out details?

  3. aggree they should use hart more. espcially since he can get to the paint and draw contact we can put more people on the opposing team in foul trouble

  4. Every team in the NBA including the scrub teams always bring their “A+” game against The Knicks. They don’t just want to beat The Knicks, they want to embarrass them! They want to do silly dance celebrations on the sideline, roll dice on The teams logo, and stick out their chest like they just won The championship. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤣

  5. KAT needs to be better playing out the post & fighting for position down low. This team's offensive ceiling is dependent on how well/many open 3s we generate. Unless KAT is down low attacking a mismatch he does not draw two to the ball.

  6. You nailed it. We need Hart to start the offense 40 to 50% of the time plus he needs to shoot when he's open. Both these things open the loor.

  7. The other reason the Wizards almost won the game is that they had 7 guys with double points while the Knicks were just top heavy with 3 guys in double points. It;s just harder to defense against 7 guys popping points.

  8. Great analysis, perhaps the Knicks should give you a consulting contract breaking down play by play after each game for the coaches’ reference 👏👏👏

  9. yeah but thats how hart gets the rebounds by focusing on how the ball come off the rim and getting out of the way

  10. I dont think it is problematic to play different ways against different teams. Orlando has big switchable wings and guards that can switch alot of actions and even bother Kat in the post while the wizards do not. If you are trying to attack bad defenders, the closet you get to that on orlando is a big out of postion (guarding a guard on the perimter) while Sarr on the wizards might not even be their worse perimter defender.
