Luka Doncic is going to miss some time with a calf strain. Are the Dallas Mavericks in trouble? Is Luka Doncic injury prone?

"I don't have much time"… rambles for 30 minutes… audio issues i know… new equipment coming soon
The people in the comments on mavs fan pages r some of the biggest idiots in the world. Constantly weight watching Constantly tearing luka down saying hes washed at 25. Its so toxic
6-2 without Luka but one of those losses was without Luka And Kyrie
Let’s remember that Kyrie usually plays with the bench guys like Dinwiddie and Hardy much more than Luka does. Luka usually plays with Klay, pj and lively when Kyrie is off the floor … so of course the offensive rating is going to be worse with Luka off the floor and Kyrie playing with guys who miss a lot.
Im not that worried I just hope they don’t overwork Kyrie. Also hope Naji starts getting more minutes again. They will need his scoring.
If it's torn, he's out for the season
Calf injury is what has killed Mike Trout's career
This needs to be a wakeup call to Luka and the Mavs. The amount of workload he's taking on that weight is not sustainable. He needs to drop 10-20 pounds and find that middle ground where he's strong enough to bully the smaller defenders while being agile against the bigger guys. The way he plays the game is not that of an injury prone guy and the fact that he's constantly getting injured is a tell that his body is not handling the extra stress his weight is putting on the legs.
Slightlybiased got into politics to take side of Tim macmohan
wow i dont know the english word for people like you but its freaking hillarious – the 3rd video in the row wre the reason for your question is freaking obviuos but YOU are acting as if its an unknown mystery and if someone points out the obvious you are acting nuts ^^ IT S HIS DIET AND CONDITIONING
Mavs are winning garbage time minutes because Hardy is the king of garbage time! I watched enough Mavs games to realize that Jeff can easily end up with double figures in the 11-13 pts range within that 5-min garbage time window😄
Don't worry too much about Luka. He comes from the Balkan peninsula. He'll be fine.
Mavs have a good rooster this year and can win games without him. They are better with Luka, but all they need is to get to the PO.
It doesn't matter if Mavs have the home court advantage. They will always have the best player in the series on the court, and that is more important than having the home court advantage.
At least in the NBA. Now, if this was Euroleague, home court would matter because you don't want to play too many games in the opponents arena since fans are likely going to be throwing lighter, mobile phones, coins, flash bangs and other stuff at you.
In the NBA, the most dangerous thing that can happen to a player is if someone in the first row spills his drink and they slip on it. O and fans chanting
DEFENSE, DEFENSE.
This injury makes it even more frustrating that he didn’t get MVP last season. It completely was a robbery. He had an insane historic season with a 73pt game thrown in and made it to the finals as a 5 seed.
All of his injuries have been to his lower extremities-ankle,heel,knee and now his calf. The next one(i sure hope not)would be his achilles which corresponds to the heel up to the calf. IMO he needs to shed at last 15 lbs to avoid any more injuries and have a prolonged career. When he played in the Euro league his frame was slender and he was quick at 200. He had to put on weight when he started playing for Dallas to compete with NBA athletes. For me his ideal playing weight should not exceed 220 lbs,
3:37 he should have said "couldn't" make it back. I do believe it was a shot.
Glad you brought up his international play, that’s the problem here.
"WHo other than the mavs and Thunder was good"
Fuck Memphis I guess
Great video slightly and great point about the Mavs having the guts to tell Luka to take the full time off to recover
injury prone my ass. Luka was 5x 1st all nba and this was part because he played most games.
If he can be ready within a month, if the team is sputtering, he will play. But if the Mavs are at around 4 to 6 in the standings, it would be great of he can sit until after all star. Then they have to replicate last seasons run after ASG with a fresher Luka.
Half of Mavs fans (LUKA BEST PLAYER) are very concerned about next month or more without Luka. Other half (KYRIE BEST PLAYER) that think Mavs play better, faster without Luka are not worried at all. They already see Mavs in standings right there behind OKC after a month. I´m in that first worried group of fans.
Looks like team is now saying Luka will be out at least a month. I was hoping I was wrong about this one. Damn…
Time for Kyrie to do the same thing (carry team) as Luka did last season for 2 months (dec, jan.) playing 40+ minutes when half of Mavs roster was injured.
Mavs fans get so butt hurt over anything it's pathetic
He feels like he is in the back half of his career
Luka was drafted slim and fit. Hes injury prone since NBA “experts” made him chunky.
His forte are sudden speed and direction changes so chunkiness destroys his muscles and tendons. On the other hand he said he didnt plan to play 20 years and is already rich😎
My conspiracy theory is that Casey Smith ended up “accepting a new role” because he disagreed with Luka on how to handle that thigh injury….
Honestly, this is why people have been getting onto him about his conditioning and weight. Your legs can only take so much and now there’s mileage that you can’t take back. He’s gonna need to drop some weight if he’s gonna have any kind of longevity.
Shedding some weight will take a load off his legs. And I do wonder how NBA players, with their physical activities, can actually gain weight.
offseason basketball is only meaningless for americans. anyone would play as much as they can for their national team
TM reports with microaggression towards Luka. When someone is injured, you don’t have to report a weakness of his game – just report the injury. I wonder if he would’ve said the same thing if it was LeBron.
Love that Luka plays for our national team every time he can, but he really shouldn't. First off, because he adds additional wear&tear, but mostly because our national team is SO bad right now, it's literally a waste of everyone's time. Čančar (from Denver) has been injured twice this year and he's our next best guy, others are miles worse, the better ones are already in the twilight of their careers. None of our promising players have even remotely developed into at least Euroleague-tier players. And the coach is godawful, probably has the position because he's cheap.
The second thing about Luka is, even when he does get the rest he needs, he clearly lets himself go. Feels like he has no discipline whatsoever to eat the right food and keep in shape during the offseason. And maybe even during the season. Frequently starting seasons visibly overweight. His genes also don't help (his dad has a similar constitution), which is why he should be putting extra work on top of extra work to keep his body ready. When he does those 35+ minute seasons you really see how badly it's biting him in the back, especially when playoffs come around.
