Jamal is undoubtedly a crucial piece in Denver’s pursuit of a championship, but success requires every cog in the machine to function properly.
Assuming Jamal stays healthy, he’ll deliver as he always does. The real question lies with the second unit. If they can’t address their issues, Denver’s chances of winning it all take a significant hit.
That’s been my biggest frustration this season. The team has the talent and the pieces to make it work, but the second unit lacks direction and cohesion elements that are cultivated in practice. Instead, we’ve seen flashes of individual brilliance overshadowed by too much selfish play.
The coaching staff seems to be giving the second unit free rein to figure things out on the fly.
Maybe I’m wrong and the second unit is just uncoachable.
I really enjoy this show and respect Matt for being consistently contrarian and wrong. When they melt down in January and end up as the 5/6 seed Matt will pretend like he was right all along despite insisting the roster is good enough and it’s really Jokic’s fault for being upset with his dogshit teammates, as it has been for nearly a decade. Get a new take man it’s getting real stale.
Jamal has been unprofessional by being unprepared, especially considering that Jokic might face an injury or become overworked due to his delayed start. We should also take into account what happened to Jamal when he got injured at an inconvenient time because he wasted time in his ramp-up process. Look at 2023—enough said.
The difference between good and great players from a skill level is great players beat you using a variety of ways making them consistent, good players are streaky…
Jamal is a tough making jump shooter…his shot selection is long twos and threes…he doesn't generate rim pressure meaning his shot selection is bound to be inconsistent
It took me time to fully understand that
If Denver figures out to get another POA defender and Lavine
They will be fine
You can take one look at Murray and can tell he is a marshmallow.
It's simple. For the past two years the West had drastically improved. Why you ask? To counter us, you didn't had to be a professional analyst to figure out Minesotta is getting ready for us. And what did we do? Nothing. Basically nothing. I blame the owners and the GM. Jamal and MPJ were always playing like this while Jokic was carrying the whole team. So their mostly mediocre performance (minus Jamal in PO, bubble) was "covered" by otherworldly Jok and the others (BB, KCP, AG). Now when they're gone, and someone has to take the responsibility, everyone is yelling "start Rus". That's how desperate we've become thanks to Booth and Kroenke's lack of vision and skills to guide this team.
Murray disgusted having to answer a reporter's fair question. Reporters represent the fans.
Matt and Ryan giggle and have inside jokes like lil school girls.. they super sassy when they get together.. then at press conference be cowards cause they don’t keep the same energy
the #2 option that averaged 26 during the 2023 championship run is a crucial piece to denvers team. wow who wouldve thought 😂
Russel Westbrook my idol
Russel Westbrook a great player
Idk who you can trade for this Team bec Booth seems to be infatuated with the Young Players thinking they can look ahead at the future while wasting Jokic Prime
The biggest jinx was when Matt said we will game 7 against the wolves 😢😢
Payton and strawther should be starting line up to be honed
In Jamal We Trust !!!!!
"Guys that take on a lot of offensive responsibility don't do it defensively" Another reason why MJ is the GOAT
Matt is the Jamal Murray of this show… I tune in with the hopes of getting a good show but you keep disappointing lol
They need to spend that frst pik they have and try something. Because they dont have any players that is interesting to other teams.
Jamal is `back`… `not back`… `back to dnp/bad`… `back again (?)`… and so on.
The key word is not `inconsistent`… its `unreliable`.
And thats why (some) Serbian fans CAN`T stand Jamal.
As a player – Id hate him being my `2nd option`.
Attitude, self-centeredness… immaturity. Even when `hes there` he might be MIA (quite often).
But, thats what Jokic have (does he?) available as a 2nd option – should be more like a `2nd general on the floor`… a guy that should make things happen consistently, on both ends, on both strings.
And to that – Jamal provides ZERO confidence to his #1 and his team.
he might be there – he might not, might play well – might not, might try – might not.
Is he `the key`? If there`s nothing better (and there is not) – hes all Jokic have.
If Jamal was a grown person – hed take a `brunson route`… or `harden route`… open space for 1 reliable 3&D veteran or a decent backup c… (maybe MPJ couldve done the same symbolically, and Jok would join gladly)… But Jamal`s teenage ego …
So Jokic (as well as all of us) is stuck with him.
Sad but true.
“Teams have figured out Denver”
I beg to differ. Defensive Rebounding is making these teams look better than they actually are. Every game its at least 4-5 3s made off of 2nd chances.
Why nugget suck
I think it is a reasonable to expect Jamal to show up in shape and ready to play this far into his career. Not “play himself into shape.”
Murray only cares about beating the lakers. Look at last years playoffs and this year after beating the lakers in LA.
Nonsense. Jamal should be "there" from day one! – He is PAID to be there from day one! Also, Jamal was not good in the last year's playoffs either…
This year´s version of the Nuggets hasn´t really strung together a long winning streak. They have a good game and then they let up. You can´t win championships with this kind on inconsistency. Also, they need to keep the lead once Jokic is out. For that they need someone on the team who can create his own shot instead of waiting for the ball.
