NY Knicks Roster Move Looming? Chuma Okeke Favored Over TJ Warren! | New York Knicks News

The New York Knicks are on an 8-game winning streak and face the Utah Jazz tonight at Madison Square Garden, looking to make it nine in a row! Meanwhile, Ian Begley of SNY has shed light on an intriguing roster decision the Knicks may soon face regarding their G-League standouts, Chuma Okeke and TJ Warren.

Both players have been excelling with the Westchester Knicks, but according to Begley, financial constraints may make Okeke the more likely candidate to join the main roster. With the Knicks hovering just $500,000 under the second apron, the team must carefully manage their salary cap situation. Okeke’s lower minimum salary due to his shorter service time in the NBA gives him an edge over Warren, despite Warren’s impressive numbers.

Should the Knicks prioritize Okeke’s cost-effectiveness, or should they take a chance on Warren for his proven scoring ability?

  1. TJ Warren is the choice based on performance. He's 6 feet 8 inches also. Minnesota Timberwolves traded KAT to the Knicks because of salary constraints. Sad move for them. Happy one for us. Never let a potential very good roster player because of pennies difference in contracts. It's a waste of money in the long run.

  2. knicks need defense at 4 and 5. chuma at 4 and mitch at 5 changes the dynamic of the bench. bringing in small guards like payne and duece wont hurt as much if you have size at 3, 4 and 5
