Nikola Jokic had a rare clutch turnover on the final possession of the Denver Nuggets loss to Victor Wemby and the San Antonio Spurs. Jamal Murray struggled all night. Russell Westbrook struggled for most of the night. And the Nuggets fell to the Spurs in the first of two games against each other. I 100% was not fan of malone skipping a game to go to his daughter game. You're an NBA coach getting paid of millions of dollars, it's a part of the job. The season might fall on important days, LBJ has played every christmas game for so long… he has kids. He never sat out a game and said I wanted to spend time with my kids on Xmas
Jimmy butler is available for peanuts, go get em, love MPJ but his impact in the playoffs isn't felt as much as someone like butler. Look at what Jokic did with Westbrook , imagine what butler could do with Brate.
I get it when you missing open shots like CB in past 4-5 games but he at least trying to play some D and not forcing crazy shots same goes for Russ he learned his role and he always playing good D and brings positive energy heck even MPJ is trying his best but I really getting tired of Jamal it's not that he is missing just wide open shots nah he will continue to try those crazy difficult shots sometimes even if Denver still have plenty time left for possession he will just waste it and throw one of his "bricks" and what is even worst he is just useless in defense it's like he is not even trying to play D anymore…….
You’re all focused on Russ, and to some extent, I agree he is playing his best bball in years. However, many of you seem to have forgotten the reasons given in the preseason for why he was brought to Denver.
The primary goal given was to help Murray reach his full potential, to mentor him, guide his return to form, and further develop his game.
In that regard, Russ has fallen short. While the cynic in me might suggest he’s doing this intentionally, I’m willing to dismiss that idea.
ATM Denver’s club culture is not a championship winning one.
Hopefully behind the scenes they are addressing this issue but Melone’s body language would suggest otherwise.
You really miss AG in games like these, there's no one apart from him and Jok that can drive hard into taller defenders and you needed that tonight, especially when Wemby and Collins have 5 fouls each.

Victor had 5 fowls, and instead of playing at him to either get his 6 or score easy buckets because he's avoiding his 6, they're just staying outside of the paint. Regardless, I thought that the Nuggets would split the 2 games so it can still happen (though I thought they would win at home and lose today)…
Russel at the end: Two fouls. A Chris Paul blow by for a crucial bucket. Almost turned it over. Still liked his hussle. Part of the Russel experience.
For the hundredth time he writes that Denver does not have a bench that can have an impact on the game either defensively or offensively. Besides Jamal, the CB cannot score anything and is not a player who should start, he can play 25-28 minutes but from the bench. If Denver does not try to trade Zeke, Saric, Tyson, Pickett, Cancar and even Julian who is not an NBA caliber player and PW is close to bringing in two players who will have good minutes from the bench and who you can rely on. The West is extremely strong unlike the East where four teams are stronger and differ from the rest. Denver is the team that brought the last player through a trade Gordon in 3 years. Those are three years where the GM cannot make a deal to create a bench that will really help Denver in the games. Russ is a player who is right behind Jokic in terms of his game, the other players have low basketball IQ, and as a result we have MPJ who loses half of the rebounds he gets in a few seconds. He adds such consistency that it is a pleasure to watch, but the other players stand and watch as the ball goes a meter away from him. That is the famous saying related to soccer but it can be applied to any team sport-

Dude, you are saying Jokic "ill-advised" pass at the end. Mate, watch it closely how many opposing players closed on Jokic quickly and no Nuggets clowns opened up for a pass. His only chance was across the court.

I don't understand blaming Jamal, he didn't have the ball most of the time, they cut the lead in the 2nd with the bench, I mean I expect very little out of Jamal, but the reason they lost was Jokic taking and missing too many shots he usually gets, and the bench with Jordan couldn't score at all because of Wemby

The fact that PWat played center in the first half is another indictment of Booth. Paying Zeke 8million to sit on the bench and waste the mle on Saric. But the Dnvr guys always have Booths back.
All of the failings of Nuggets culture lie at the feet of Calvin Booth. He is the one who decided to put his own ego ahead of the teams ability to win a championship. He decided that he would rather have his guy Christian in the starting lineup, then give the team a chance to win a championship by retaining KCP. Booth is the person who Decided to ship holiday out of town so that his guy pwar will get a chance to play. He is the guy who signed Saric to the MLE and wasted that money in roster spot. He is the guy who extended Zeke and settled the nuggets with a untradableasset.
