Both Green and Whitmore are bucket getters who run hot and cold. The obvious thing to do is to start Jalen, and if his shots are not falling, go to Cam.
The Rockets are not "incompetent" offensively (they're ranked #15 in offensive rating), and hypothetically if they were "incompetent" offensively — you would hope they did demand "perfection" out of players rather than impulsively integrate players.
I hope we can integrate Cam more in the rotation, but let's stop pretending the Rockets aren't stacked with young talent, and they're incompetent on the offensive end.
They're literally average (competent) on the offensive end, and elite (more than competent) on the defensive end, resulting them being an above average team.
Cam will just have to continue this pattern if he wants to be integrated more. It's up him.
Green and Whitmore can play together. The issue is fred, he should have his minutes cut to like 24-25 and we should run everything through sengun and use him more as a facilitator rather than a scorer
Everyone in here mentioning jalen and saying he should be playing over him, your iq gotta be less than 10. You thinking this shows you have 0 basketball knowledge, jalen is a guard that has the feel to playmake and ball handle(even tho he’s not the best in this area, he still can and does this in his role), cam on the other hand is more tunnel visioned than Carmelo Anthony, y’all think that’s a guard? Lol the position he will excel at is and has always been the 3 and a small ball 4
I think Cam and Amen + Fox or Brooks is the move. If that means we trade Jalen Green, I'm fine with that. If that means we trade Jalen Green and future picks, I'm fine with that too. What will frustrate me to no end is trading either Cam or Amen and watching them catapult to instant All-Stars on some other team simply because those other teams gave those guys consistent minutes and development in real games.
Well thought out. You actually hit the nail on its head. Every little mistake, cam’s little minutes disappears but you’ve guys turning the ball over always and missing defensive assignment and still remains on the court.
Unfortunately, on a team that's about 10 deep, everyone's not getting 30 minutes a night. Some people are asking for Amen to be a starter. Some are asking for Tari to be a starter. Can't start eight. They've been talking that Whitmore might end up being traded, even though no one wants to.
Cam is the type of player that needs the ball in his hands and let him do him, he's the type of player that thrives if he has his own team. The problem is the NBA is no longer constructed like that. No one player carries a team anymore. So Cam and the coaching staff has to figure out how to get him involved with the team more. Which I think is what Ime is doing. Cam being so young he probably doesn't understand it yet. But I get it because there has been players in his same situation that end up journey men playing no minutes then out the League. But Cam has to understand he isn't that type of player and the front office doesn't view him as that. Their just taking time with him like they did ALL the young guys on the team. So yes he has plenty of room for error, because their not rushing him to be that player.
Been saying for a couple seasons this roster needs to be cooked down. What do we do with Tari when he comes back? First thing is to get rid of vanvleet. He takes a ton of shots for a point guard, and he ain’t making them. Cam should be getting over 30 minutes a game.
Yeah you are MORE than HALF wrong. Their O is not as bad as you make it out to be. They score 112.9 per for 12th in the league…that is only 2.5 per behind OKC. Calling that bad is so wrong. There is more than one type of O. The Rockets are among the best in transition with a top D, the best rebounding team and #7 in ball-control in the league. Where they need help is outside shooting for spacing in the half-court O.
cam should definitely play and should be go-to-scorer. if JG can learn to play as facilitator then it's ok. Otherwise i'd trade JG for a guard like fox
If you kept up with Rockets basketball you’d know their leash depends on how much they lock in defensively that’s why cam was sent to the g league, my educated guess would be they send reed to the g league he hasn’t been able to find his shot yet, and amen can play guard and Jabari can slide to the 5 and we run 3 forward lineups all the time.
The rockets are showing favoritism to reed . Cam fits the team right now and the future . He’s a future starter or 6th man . Politics is playing a part . Trade van and brooks invest in cam .
Agreed. Ime let's Fred and Brooks get away with murder on offense and he punishes Sengun, Cam, and Jalen. Fred is a place filler that will be replaced by Amen next year. It's simple come next season lineup should be Amen, Jalen, Brooks, Jabari, and Sengun with Cam, Tari, and Sheppard coming off the bench. Eventually Rockets move off of Brooks too and lineup can be Amen, Jalen, Tari, Jabari, Sengun with Cam and Reed off the bench. Problem solved.
Good but a little short-sighted. The best lineup would be Amen, Brooks, Cam, Jabari and Sengun, with Brooks at the 2. This way you don't move Cam as a lead guard and you dont move him over Brooks. Ideally trade Green after this season and dont renew FVV.
If there's gonna be a Rocket traded i'd hope it's Van Vleet. I like him but I think there's players on the bench that can be more productive (Amen & Cam). When I watch Jalen Green I see a guy with such great athleticism. He's quick, he can shoot, and he's just so smooth. The problem is he turns it on and off. He needs to play 100% throughout the game, every game. Dude, I see Michael Jordan in this guy when he's playing to his potential.

Only way to free Cam Whitmore is to trade Jalen Green!
Cam wanted to be in Houston but he is too good to be a bench player. Let him go to another team, Houston will regret it, tho.
He has the best shooting technique in whole team.
He's one of my favorites. Incredible athlete. I feel like time is on his side but he needs to see minutes to develop.

Last night he should have closed the game with his taking FVV's place with the other four starters.
Jalen got similar treatment last year so it's not accurate to act like Cam is the only guy that isn't getting held accountable.
And Jalen has played great defense this year. Cam deserves more minutes, but it should come at the expense of Fred VanVleet.

You are absolutely right!
Well thought out. You actually hit the nail on its head. Every little mistake, cam’s little minutes disappears but you’ve guys turning the ball over always and missing defensive assignment and still remains on the court.
Don't get too emotional on this. He needs to work on his defense and chemistry on his teammates. He can score no doubt.
Been waiting for cam to play smh

Been screaming absolutely this.
He needs to humble himself.
If coach Ime doesn't playing Cam more, he will be the reason why we don't go as far as we can

Cam can look unstoppable. If he does, give him minutes until he doesn't.
Let Cam play; give him more minutes. I'll be one of his fans whichever other NBA teams he joins in.
Rockets have a potential all star on the bench woth cam and that dam ime udoka dont give him no minutes 🤡

Why was this guy even in the G league???!
If Rockets are that foolish, send him to the raptors so he can become a star.
cam should definitely play and should be go-to-scorer. if JG can learn to play as facilitator then it's ok. Otherwise i'd trade JG for a guard like fox
He played very well. He is a good fit with most Rockets players
you're not crazy. rockets go long spells without any buckets, look at our loss vs timberwolves and the heat. so why not play cam who can get buckets

Why should he pass the ball to someone who will ultimately miss the shot anyway 😂
He is him

It's all contracts and politics
I like his game but he kinda has a low ball IQ.
