Knicks Linked To TRADE For Pistons Center Jalen Duren… | Knicks News

The New York Knicks could be on the verge of making a trade IF the right player becomes available. Recent reports indicate that Detroit is a team to watch at the deadline potentially that could make a trade with the Knicks. However, if NY looks to make a move they will likely target Jalen Duren/Isaiah Stewart in a trade to improve this team. That’s if Detroit makes them available at the right cost. NY also has other targets to consider if they want to make a move. But after the loss to OKC, the Knicks need for more depth off the bench is apparent… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. Achiuwa is filling in well as a big off the bench we need scoring off our bench that’s the need. Let Mitch come back in April if he needs to or use him in a trade to get scoring off the bench

  2. Precious versatile but not giving enough offense and yes decent defense. I will say we are needing a goon, a bully in the paint. Simms is another trade piece to get Duren. However Thibs is a bigger issue .

  3. Knicks has no assets… no cap space, no good draft picks to offer and few players with market value to trade.
Nobody wants to get rid of good players for low costs and many franchises make negotiations with the Knicks difficult because they know we are one of the contenders (or we are expected to be). We are practically at a dead end, we will hardly be able to improve our squad without giving up some important player.

  4. I’m not sure Duren and Stewart are realistic goals for New York. What about a Deni Avdija trade. He is young and a great wing.

  5. Oh look, another day another trade rumor. The bench definitely lacks scoring punch. Maybe it's time for Thibs to tweak the starting line-up or adjust the rotation to stagger the starters with the bench players. With our remaining assets I doubt we are going to score anything worthwhile in a trade, our best hope is landing someone who fits in the buyout market.

  6. Achiuwa and Stewart are basically the same type of players. Stewart is more of a physical presence. No thanks.

  7. Troy I have all the faith on Leon rose to improve the bench . The problem is will thibs have the faith to play the bench in any situation . It remains to be seen .

  8. Yo. Would u trade Detroit Native Mitchell Robinson and T Dunn plus a 1 For J Duren and Tim Hardaway.

  9. Josh Hart would make our bench Elite. Duren and KAT 2 bigs in the lineup at the same time would make us lethal

  10. Stewart is not the move. Undersized center at 6'8 who is a head case and doesnt do anything great. Knicks could have drafted Duren so that hurts that we want him now. Having a legit backup center would be nice but we need scoring off the bench. The priority is getting us some points when the starters are on the bench.

  11. The Knicks and the pistons do make moves together , certain teams are known to work with each other in certain teams aren’t , the Knicks and the Pistons have made multiple trades recently, one of them being Jalen Duran on draft night, which I wish we never did. I should go back and see what we actually got back. I think it had something to do with getting rid of Kemba Walker’s contract or something like that.

  12. There's only one team that ended up being more stupid than the Knicks regarding Duren and that team is the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte drafted Duren at 13 and gave him away. The Knicks gave Duren away for Brunson and Hartenstein's money. I Hart isn't on the Knicks and Duren isn't on the Knicks. Okay, Brunson is — still — the Knicks could have created the salary money for Brunson and kept Duren and they didn't do it. Now the Knicks want Duren after they already had him. Leon Rose wasn't paying attention when he made the Duren deal with Detroit now the Pistons want us to overpay for the guy we already had. As a Knicks fan, make it make sense…

  13. Knicks still can’t beat elite teams they are gonna be out in the second round of the playoffs again unacceptable 💯

  14. Why would the Pistons give us one of their best players? The way this bench performs no one is untradeable.

  15. Mr Leon Rose is patient and serious to improve the Knicks bench team especially the backup Centers. In a trade to get rid of Robinson & Simms with some resources.
Leon Rose will pull it off.
I believe in Mr Leon Rose from now to the future 🙏

  16. Why not wait for Mitch? It strengthens our rebounds, especially on the offensive end and has Josh, Precious and Deuce off the bench. No more trades this year. Use what we got. Only give our starters 30-35 minutes per game!

  17. You Knicks fans are dreaming again about Duran? Just like last trade deadline and the offseason, you guys just do not have what the Pistons would want for Duran. The organization has spoken about staying away from players with injury history, maybe the reason they might trade Stewart, but hey are NOT going to trade for Mitchell Robinson, who has more ??s about his health, then just about anyone besides Simmons. You MIGHT be able to come up with an offer to get Stewart, but not Duran, who is showing some improvement.

  18. I'm watching the game against the bulls right Thibs just got Kat hurt and game is over we lost back to Back f Thibs

  19. The way that the Pistons are playing winning basketball right now, I seriously doubt that they are going to trade either of those guys to the Knicks. Let's wait on Robinson & see what the buyout market can bring to us. Thibs needs to start playing Hukporti & see what he can do.

  20. Jalen Duren has a team option for 2025 6.4 mil. Then he should get the same money that Robinson is getting. STEWART should be an even swap and 2 2nd round picks. Since he’s making 15 mil a year and just signed his deal in 2023, so he’ll have 2 yrs left on his current contract. We just need to obtain the best defensive option and someone who can mesh well with our current system, team and Thibs.
