  1. This is controversial, but I think Pop is being selfish and holding the Spurs back. Either say if you intend to return or retire, stop keeping the organization from getting an official coach.

  2. I think the problem is the team is young and lacks experience. When they play from behind, they play frantic and makes mistakes. A few mistakes lead to them been down by 10 in a minute, even see CP make some awful passes.

As for Pop, I hope he comes back but takes a less stressful position.

  3. Castle need to start over cp3. If cp3 not scoring we will lose the game. He had games where he didn’t score no points. You can’t have a team when your starting not scoring no points in win🤷🏾‍♂️

  4. Denying Pop withes to come back could actually to way more harm than good. I’m sure most of have heard the theory that when someone older retires they start to age even faster and their health starts going downhill. It seems like the people that keep working and stays active lives the longest.

  5. Castle def needs to start or get more minutes to get into a rhythm but doesnt deserve it yet

  6. The mild stroke's effect on the body is like a post-trauma after a surgery. But instead of spending several days to be fresh again, you can spend months (and I know what I am talking to…). And the older you are and the more time you will get to come back to your initial energy level.
Pop will be 76 years old end of January.
First it will be a long journey for him to get back on bench. I highly doubt that he will be able to come back this season.
Second a mild stroke is not arriving just like that without reasons. To be a NBA coach is very intense and lasting so much time in a franchise is already an oustanding performance. Even if he is very experimented, the level of stress should be very high everyday. You also need to be on the road at least 41 times in a season (travelling by plane, sleeping in hotels,…). The rythm should be so high.

If he doesn't want to die too soon, Pop should retire at the end of this season (or beginning of next season) after spending ten games on the bench (like a "jubilee"). He should spend some time with his family while staying in the organisation as external adviser (thanks to his experience, he could still bring so much to Mitch if the Spurs keep him as coach).
And ask Chris Paul to stay with the Spurs as backcourt coach after his retirement !!!

  7. The Pop conversation comes with mixed emotions, however, I hope every Spurs fan remembers that Wemby was so high on coming to SA because he wanted to learn from Pop, not from the benches but from Pop being on the court with the players. Be careful what we wish for….
