I think they have the talent to be a 500 team but they haven't gelled yet.
Giannis is just a downhill player, he doesn’t want to play like a big man, Dame has accepted it

Didnt care for the focus on Ant's ISO there at the end, luckily we got what we needed to get the W.
My dream for this year is for Dame and the Bucks to win a championship and for Us (Blazers) to get the #1 pick. Neither of those are going to happen unfortunately.

Though it's a small sample size, the Blazers have won 3 of their last 5 games.
4 of those games were incredibly close, decided by a margin of less than 8 points.
Except for the Jazz, all the other teams are stronger (on paper at least) :
.625 – Mavericks
.576 – Lakers
.515 – Bucks
.433 – 76ers
.241 – Jazz
This team can't be a .500 squad with nearly zero rim protection and a center (Ayton) who seems disengaged or possibly dealing with mental struggles.
I saw Deni and Camara leading Giannis to the baseline a couple of times, but help never came because Ayton was too busy staring into space or something,
just standing there under the basket, looking completely disconnected instead of stepping in.
Simons who's half head shorter than most ball handlers, just can't effectively guard them.
This makes usually Camara to step in and guard the ball handler, which only leaves Simons mismatched in even worse situations.
With all due respect to Simons, you can't hide him in defensive and expect to be a consistently competitive team.
Sure they can win games but it will likely be sporadic or very hard-earned, it's not a winning formula.
( honestly, there's no real formula in place, but that's a whole other issue. )
Don't get me wrong, they ARE good guys, and if they were half their salaries, I'd be okay with them coming off the bench to boost the offense, but that's not the case.
Ayton has been stuck in the same mindset for years, and Simons can't change his height or wingspan.
Those are the two main issues for me, the third issue is injured right now so I'll give him a break.
I'll leave it to the front office to figure out.
Sharpe's decision-making? That can be fixed.
Deni's ball-handling? It can get better.
Camara's shooting? That can be improved.
Scoot's confidence? He'll grow into it with time.
Blazers did a good job on Giannis he needed 27 shots to get 30 points
19 pts, 14 rebs, and most passes to open players. And then you have that killer cross over dunk of the game. Yep, Deni's becoming the best player on the team.
The Ant hero ball in the last 3 minutes was really frustrating. No one is going to remember it, because he ended up scoring that one bucket, and the Blazers ended up winning the game, but that's not what you should be doing to win games. And what's more annoying is that you can clearly see that those are the coaches instructions.
scoot should play more, he is the best point guard in this team and should have the ball in his hand, trust him
