Knicks are no contender. You can’t play 5 guys the whole game and think you can contend. This ain’t college. Everyone that drops to to thunder keep saying we should have won and we’re right there like the thunder gave their best. Missing two key pieces and have not shot great all year. KAT took zero 3s, which is why OKC was just fine with the JDub matchup. The Knicks played well, but they didn’t almost have this game. OKC was down double digits the night before to the Clippers, a couple nights before that to the wolves, even the pacers and several other games. OKC has been losing at half several times this year, yet, they’ve come back to win in the 3rd and 4th consistently. Watch their 3rd quarter against the Wolves from this week, and you’ll see one of the best quarters of basketball this year. It was almost as good as last night. Last night was probably better because it was the 4th quarter and not the 3rd.

Knicks need a solid bench to be a serious contender
OKC was on a b2b while the Knicks were in a hotel resting their legs. Can you imagine how tired they were.
KAT has proven to be their best player this year. And Knicks are also better when Brunson becomes a little bit more of a facilitator. When he's doing iso hero ball in crunch time over and over, that plays into the defense's hands and going away from the success we had in the first 3 qtrs.

Thibs is the reason the Knicks don’t win a Chip. His inability to strategically rotate players and skill set will always be a problem. Depth will always be a problem if bench doesn’t get minutes to gain trust and experience. Thibs gets out coached again

Honestly to say the knicks were hanging with okc just means you haven’t been watching thunder this season. Thunder have been a “second half team” these past games. Did the clippers hang? No, but they were up against us at half. Thunder always turn it up in the third and fourth, and the other team always gets tired due to our defensive pressure. The games always look close but then the third and fourth come and the other team just starts making mistake after mistake and our defense comes like a train and our defense turns into offense and we take over. SGA is playing mvp ball and it’s over.
Thunder are now the type of team that other teams get moral victories from even after losing.. I love it

you forgot to mention the fully rested nyk played the okc on their 2nd night of back to back (3rd game in 4 nights) and missing their second best player (chet) and arguably top 3 defender (caruso)
Knicks wouldn’t have to see OKC till finals anyway. The Celtics and Cavs don’t have a Shai, and JB/Kat could be best offensive duo in any playoff series
Your coach still doesn't learn about playing his starters heavy minutes every game. 40+ minutes is insane this early.
This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who watches the NBA in general. Thunder been doing this all season. With more than 10 minutes to go, no lead is safe against these guys. In this game in particular, the Thunder bench demolished em. I've noticed that as good as the Knicks are, they have a problem from a coaching standpoint. The starters are getting their legs run off. In this game it came back to bite em. Either the bench isn't trustworthy and so the coaches have little choice but to push the starters, or the coaches don't know how to apportion playing time. The Knicks are good. Their record proves it. But from here on, I see the Knicks' record taking a hit as the team starts having a sizable drop-off in production. Because I just don't know how the starters can maintain the pace that they're being pushed to endure.
