OK, Kessler is a solid rebounder and shot blocker but he's mediocre offensively. He's poor from 3's and FT's. He has NO short range/mid-range shot, he can only dunk.

Salary wise, the Rui and Hayes/Wood plus the remaining 2nd round pick for Myles Turner is possible. Turner can do what rui and wood/hayes can do, right? Should they get Turner instead? Then go for nick richards for JHS and Hayes/wood.
Then go for D.Smith, Jr. in the FA market for the available slot in the rooster.

We definitely need more athletic guys who can defend and fly up and down the floor. Houston showed us that last night. And when you see teams like Boston, OKC, and Memphis, you can see why they’re sitting atop the league. Youth, athleticism, and defense, with a couple of big time scorers to round out the roster. That’s the way to go. I still like Kessler for us. But Ainge is never gonna play fair with us. And we don’t need to get fleeced again.

I don't understand why not just take JV for Gabe and 2nd… Yes, JV is not perfect, not for all matchups, but Gabe too! He's too small and many teams can attack him and he also gives you almost nothing offensively and he is always injured… JV is great rebounder, great inside scoring threat, can shoot mid range or three when open, good free throw shooter. Hes only problem is very slow feet. But still he would be perfect against guys like Adams yesterday.
I think in the long run, we are going to be sorry we traded D’lo.

They’ve been looking for someone like Caruso since they let him walk for peanuts lol. Funny thing is, they’ve spent more on worse players every single year since then. So what was clearly a money focused move to not pay him… (he was even willing to take less than CHI offered, but they were offering him honestly a joke contract) clearly backfired bc they legit spent more anyway.
These are just some of the players they spent $ on. There’s more. But between Nunn, waiving old guys like Ariza/DeAndre etc, to Davon Reed/Lonnie Walker, (I like Lonnie but he’s not even in the NBA rn) then to Gabe Vincent. Just go look at the cap sheets from those years.
That’s still one of their biggest mistakes. Caruso wasn’t a PG as in he wasn’t a lead ball handler, but he could dribble and be a secondary one. He obviously could defend multiple positions, 1s/2s, even some 3s. Then he could play well off ball whether via cutting to the basket, or hitting open catch and shoot 3s. He’s not shooting well this year, but he has shot 38.2% 3P on 3.4att in the 179GP between 21-22 – 23-24. That’s 4.6att PER 36.
Unfortunate, bc he would’ve fit so well on any of these Laker teams especially replacing Vincent with him.
They need to get 2 center and put ad at the 4 permanently. He should only be playing the 5 at the end of games. I don’t understand why no one gets this. It’s not rocket science. If AD goes back to the 4 that would lessen your need for another wing because he would be occupying a wing spot which he prefers anyway. We would be almost impossible to score on in the paint like 2020. I would try to get Kessler and Richard’s. I would also look to target sexton from Utah . He’s a really efficient guard and is good defensively.
