Ethan, you're a true optimist. Jimmy was never going to ball out and earn his extension. He understands that he can get hurt and he loses 60 million plus. Jimmy is fully aware that he is not worth a max extension but wants it anyway.
Here’s what I think is happening… Jimmy said nobody should be untradeable besides him. He wanted to sell the farm to get a better team and the Heat were too invested in the drafted guys to oblige.
I absolutely hate that it seems like the Heat’s only plan is to sign a max contract in 2026 to save their franchise.
They have the pieces to develop a young group from the ground up and they are praying for some high usage guy to come in free agency and subvert everything. I really am starting to resent this front office.
