Sam Amick on why the writing could be on the wall for De’Aaron Fox & the Kings
After surprisingly firing head coach Mike Brown on December 27th, the Sacramento Kings have posted a 5-1 record, including five straight wins.
The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross to share his observations of how Sacramento has performed under interim head coach Doug Christie, relay his intel on where De’Aaron Fox currently stands with the organization, and much more.
Plus, are the Kings still shaping to be an aggressive team on the trade market in the coming weeks?

Didn't Sam Amick say extending Mike Brown was a no brainer and firing Brown was a huge mistake and scapegoat move?
What credibility does Sam Amick have left after he shamed Vivek into extending Mike Brown and insisted the organization keep Mike Brown despite many players apparently wanting a new coach
Trade Fox now his value will drop. The kings will survive and will go on just like they have with brown. Sam last few articles have been bs and more national media view and always down talking the kings and proposing bs trades.
Kings tradings away their stars after getting back in the hunt & 5 game win streak. That makes ZERO sense 😂
New Orleans Pelicans fan here, thoughts on trading Fox for Brandon Ingram?
How much do you guys pay Sam to come on the show? He’s a reporter, writer whatever he is. He’s going to stir the pot so he gets news to report on. Sam is just a Kings hater because he was here when they were bad and now they’re good he’s just flat out jealous.
Sam has some sort of vendetta against the kings leadership. Both brown and Fox made their bed by going to the media to create public pressure. Things don’t end well when you do that—especially when you don’t live up to expectations.
I understand Zion Williamson I don’t understand Cam Johnson Cam Johnson and Trey Lyles is the same player
Sam sounds so hopeful that this will blow up in their face smh sounds like a shill for the Fox camp
The sooner the better …. trade him … 2 winning seasons in what 7 years ? he wont resign anyway so why keep him
honestly i'd move fox for 2-3 first round picks …. unless its an all star its pointless …
Trading Fox makes sense. Preemptive strike. He will ask out, it’s no secret. Move him and get a younger stud plus picks/swaps
Give the Nets 2 firsts, when Fox leaves the Kings can more than recover them!
You have to think about the present and future of the team. We don't need Fox anymore and is a ball stopper. Do you ever see him pass the ball to Huerter, Murray, Lyles? I mean thats his job to find them in their spots. There's also a problem with one too many guards.
Monk is on a favorable contract is better for the team especially with Domas. And both Keon and Carter are cheap long term deals. Fox is taking up shots from Heurter, Murray and Lyles and is hurting their confidence as well as ball movement.
Monk and Keon is like a replica of Bibby and Doug. Fox should just off the bench like Bobby Jackson and just score or get traded because he's asking for a max.
You trade Fox, for size and a backnup big for Domas. Why the hell would you get rid of your shooters(and size) in Murray, Huerter and Lyles??? How many 6-3"< guards do you need?? Monk/Fox/Keon/Carter/Jordan/Mason
Keon ellis is a +19 point on-off rating, which ranks for 8th in the nba, that ranks aboce players like steph and wemby. And if you think thats a bullshit stat, guess whos number 1? Jokic.
Imagine a defensive minded coach leaving a player like that when what we need more thann anything is defense and 3 point shooting.
Won’t even listen lol NAH. Kings can likely pay Fox more than other teams anyway, assuming we show promise and stuff he will definitely want to stay
They absolutely should have had a press conference. Monte had one when Luke was fired. Vivek and Monte look foolish and deserve all the heat for how they mishandled the whole thing, yes. However, a lot of the finger pointing at Fox, especially from the larger outside NBA world, was because the week before he appeared on the Draymond podcast talking about how the team wasn't good enough, the Rich Paul article came out later that week. All of that generated a lot of noise about Fox and his future. Most people do not know or care about what is happening with the Kings, but they hear that noise and so when Brown was fired in the midst of all that, yeah, they connected those dots however wrong they are. You can say it's not fair and it's bad timing or whatever, but that's part of the risk when you choose to play those games in the media as Klutch did.
Trade Fox pls
Sometimes I feel like I just rounded a corner in High School and caught some school girls talking about "Fill in hot Goss here". despite no actual facts or evidence to back it up…
We are just asking questions right?
Can we please move forward, this "Back to the Future" thing is getting old, imho
Stay Frosty my friends
..Prepare for incoming Torching…
dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge…
Last 5 game's theyve played teams without starters. Lets see how they perform when teams are healthy
Trade fox for Cam johnson. Start monk and Ellis, sabonis, murry and Cam
I truly don’t want Fox to leave Sacramento but the front office have done what they can do (seemingly) to put pieces on the court who can move forward. It seems like this team can rarely sign high quality free agents.
