The Nuggets defeated the Nets, 124-105 tonight in Denver. Nikola Jokić contributed a team-high 35 points to go with 15 assists 12 rebounds and 4 steals, with Russell Westbrook of the Nuggets adding an additional 25 points (8-17 FG, 2-5 3P), 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Keon Johnson finished with a team-high 22 points along with 4 rebounds for the Nets in the losing effort. The Nuggets improve their record to 22-15 with the win, while the Nets fall to 13-25 for the season. The Nuggets’ next game is Sunday, 1/12/2025, against the Mavericks on the road (3:00 PM ET, KFAA/Altitude), while the Nets continue their road trip on Sunday, 1/12/2025, when they face the Jazz (8:00 PM ET, KJZZ/YES).

    Thank u Denver for not holding Westbrook back…..lakers did Westbrook so dirty.they didn’t allow him to be himself….tried to make him a 3point shooter

    Happy for him. Want him to get one last large contract before he retires, maybe 3yr or 4yr/$100m. He lost over $120m last 3yrs. Guys with his resume, like Lebron, Harden, KD, Curry, as former MVPs, are making on average $40-50m/yr.

    Lakers fan here, when he started joining the lakers 2 or 3 years ago this is what I expected him to do but instead he brought the "westbrick" persona😢.Anyway its nice to see him like this now.

    I hope ppl and the media realize soon that it may not just be the player but the role they have to play on certain teams that may affect their game cuz some of y'all made him the laughing stock and are now singing his praises….crazy

    Westbrook imo never changed the way he played, but teams keep trying to make him do what his not good at. Bad team, bad coaching can do that to a player.

    Russ has always been this good. He just played with bad teammates, aka Lebron James. Now he is playing with a real high IQ player who makes everyone better.

    Jamal Murray was never a real #2. He's a third option at best and overpayed. His assists are inflated by the role he is forced into (too small for SG). The Nuggets starters would be nearly unstoppable if Westbrook and Norman Powell were the starting backcourt. And Jokic would have even more assists.

    So Westbrook has recently learned to shoot 3? That was the worst part of his game. If he can shoot, Denver will be a super strong team
