In this clip, Jason and Tommy ask Trey Murphy III (The New Orleans Pelicans) talk about the MVP race between Nikola Jokic (The Denver Nuggets) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander aka SGA (The Oklahoma City Thunder) and whether or not it’s as important as it used to be.

You can swap Jokics body with anyone in the league and he will still be good if not elite, shay and giannis need their athletic ability to be elite
"Man it's tough.." explaining how unfair is that someone signed 4 year 200mil contract instead of 250mil is a peak delusion and one of the reasons why ratings are down..
"We're going to be playing just so many years and we're trying to get money " while one year on a minimum contract is more than 90 percent of us is going to make for life . What a bum a**
Jokic literally got goons making sure they all vote for him because there is no way SGA gets less than 1/8 the amount Jokic got last year and it was so close
๐5Mvp
Nikola Jokic this season:
– 31.6 PPG (2nd in NBA)
– 13.0 RPG (3rd in NBA)
– 9.9 APG (2nd in NBA)
– 47.7 3P% (leads NBA)
– 15 triple-doubles (leads NBA)
– Leads team in PPG, APG, RPG
– 32.88 PER (leads NBA)
Giannis and Joker are leaps and bounds above everyone else.
I dont get why dude at the start says awards are antithetical to what sports are. Its all competition. Being the best at something. Awards are the epitome of that
Great discussionโฆwith that said, SGA is the MVP this season ๐
Trey Murphy DESERVE STARTER ๐ค๐ง๐คจ
it's not good for the body. pro sports are not good for the body dude
DRose would not be viewed the same without an MVP.
You shouldn't be "employee of the year". if you were sick half the time.
Canโt be the MVP if you miss 1/5 or1/4 of the season
Jokic made Westbrook elite again…noone in the league could do it, only MVP can do it
1:45 Yes, but the award isn't "Best player of the year", it's "Most VALUABLE player". As he brings value to the team. As in he changes that team by being present….
Jokic, STILL! No competition!
Depending on how the Narrative ends…..You go with SGA bec he has the best Team in the League or do you go by the Performance of Jokic…The Best Player in the World
If SGA carries OKC to 60+ wins and 10+ games better than Denver in the wins column while averaging over 30+pp,g with his no.2 (Chet) out for half the season already, there is no logical, rational argument for the MVP to be any other person
There is a difference between the the best player and the most valuable player when you're talking team sports . Impact is more than just stat lines .
FYI, Nikola Jokic is the first player in history of basketball to be top 5 in 4 of 5 categories. He is second in scoring, second in assists, third in rebounds, 4th in steals. No player has ever done this feast.
Why do ppl talk about MVP race and we are not even at half of the season
