In my opinion, the players have lost a little respect for him. He needs to come back and earn their respect again.
The truth is that the Heat really want him to opt out of his contract. The truth is, Jimmy is coming back and will opt back into his contract next year.

You can't win if you don't play. Every time the heat wins without him is better for Miami. I saw what we did with him in the finals and if he needs more players he could be recruiting them instead of acting like Robin and pretending to be batman. Jimmy doesn't coach he's not a gm and he doesn't run a damn thing except for his mouth. It is Riley fault for believing in a guy who doesn't believe in himself.
Butler can't do anything to regain his leverage with the Heat. He's been called out by players and explayers now. They all realize how incredibly selfish and petty a human being he is selling out his teammates despite having this and next year at 100 mil. Not even Heat Hating ESPN will be able to put together a narrative to try and confuse fans into feeling empathy for washed up used to be star like Butler.
I believe that Terry's problems in his game this year is because he's got neck problems. Probably herniated disks.
