Aaron, Julian, & PW Staggered with the starters how I'd approach the Bench issues. At least until after the All-star break. 🤷☮️
Some clubs are buying stars and then trying to fit them in, which often just doesn't work. Nuggets are cultivating players and build the team from ground up. That takes time, but in the end you get rock solid foundation and variety of options. With all of the players included in team development you now are getting situation where there is not just first and second team but several possible combinations emerging. Just look ate the +/- for this game: starters all in minus and "second" team in fat plus. Couple of more months and the Nuggets will be a well oiled machine stable and steady. One of the few teams that are actually grow and develop.

Brother, AGn returned to the field after the second calf injury and it was logical that Maloun would not force him, let that leg slowly get stronger from game to game and for me as a Denver Nuggets fan, it doesn't matter if AG, or CB, or Westbrook is in the first 5, it is important that the team is healthy and that it gives a result in addition to an excellent game, thank you for covering the Nuggets games, I have been following you for some time and keep it up, greetings from Serbia!
Aaron Gordon shouldnt come of the bench. The starting five should be. Russel, CB, MPJ, AG and Jokic. That literally gives AG so much freedom. He has the best passer in the NBA(Jokic) and one of the best playmakers in the NBA(Westbrook). The double cut from AG and Russel would be awesome for Jokic too. And if they leave MPJ open its done. Cb should be there for the defense and if he isnt as needed, Murray(if he decides to finally play) could be the SG. That would be game over for any team. Westbrook can guard 1-5, AG can guard 1-5, CB can guard really good and they would be awesome.
I would still start AG because he has always been starting since he joined the team and I see no reason to bring him off the bench when he's healthy. Plus, I don't think AG is the problem with the starters. He's much needed on defense and on offense he can be a lob threat, floor spacer, target for hunting mismatches, ball handler running inverted pick and roll, etc. He's just such a versatile player especially next to Jokic. The elephant in the room is Christian Braun. I like Braun and was advocating for him to start over KCP because I thought overall he would be a more impactful player, but he's making it harder to defend him. Russ is straight up playing better than CB right now in every facet of the game. Offense, defense, 3s made, hustle, you name it. Malone always emphasized the starting positions are earned not given. Well, the awkward thing is I felt like Russ has "earned" it by outplaying CB and even Jamal Murray at times now that we're about half way into the season. The spacing with Russ is still not ideal especially in the playoffs but neither is the spacing with CB. It's a tough dilemma for sure and I can see both sides of the argument as long as Russ is playing 30 minutes a game. Peyton and Julian both need to play around 25 – 30 minutes a game too. They have been awesome for the bench lately.

Won't happened but, ideal starting line up is Russ, PWAT, MPJ, AG and Jok, our perimeter defense would look much better with PWAT, Russ and AG, Jamal is toxic in defense
That's what impressed me the most. The nuggets went on a run with Jokic on the bench! That's so important for the confidence of the bench I love it

AG has been ready for a few games, but they gave him extra recovery time. He’ll likely come off the bench. He’s injury-prone, so another setback could keep him out for the playoffs.
We barely beat mavs without luka and ky this is bad
spence and Hardy were a major disaster this game. they got skills but u have to find a way to stay consistent. major disappointment
Man AG off the bench makes the most sense to me as opposed to CB or Russ. That might be the move. One thing I have confidence in is Mike Malone will figure it out. Much love as always Z. 🤙
I watch all game last night and they was so bad in first half nobody can't hit anything AG and Russ latter Jamal start and Joker and CB he can't put 3pts if life depends on it he was worse and MPJ and think Joker third or Jamal for third worst thigh battle 😂😂 but they pull it somehow and in first Dallas can't miss put 3 like nothing from all sides and in last quarter they revenge us so they can hit anything and loose balls like we was in first 😂
They play so hard Joker was like butcher blood all over him think that need to put like scree saver or something! 😂😂

I think Gordon would understand that if he goes to the bench, it’s not because Westbrook or Braun are better than him but because they need his defense and playmaking on the second unit and Braun would make the bench unit too weak.

I hate losses like this for the Mavs. Now people are praising the Nuggets like they weren't getting smoked all game.
Nuggets shooting was attrocious. They should not have won the game. Mavs collapsed in 4th.
