  1. One of the most versatile defenders in the league. He can literally guard 1-4 and some 5s. He even blocked Wemby the other day and did a great job guarding him the second game. Heโ€™s literally key to Nuggets postseason success and Iโ€™ll stand by it

  2. Peyton Watson isn't "one of the most important pieces for a team trying to win a championship".

He's an important role player for slightly above average team.

I'm the biggest fan of a good defender, and i do applaud the video for highlighting that. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

  3. This Nuggets is one solid team. Watson, Strawther, D Jordan damn these guys are good. One solid contender for the championship.

  4. What I really respect about your channel is you cover defense, and the impact of players whose names are the one's everyone's chatting about. Watson has matured so much this year, and been such a great piece that the Nuggets have built.

  5. He could be a future DPOY candidate! His effort and ability to recover are elite, and his length is something that can always make him a defensive threat. Let's go Swatson!

  6. Great video. Everything that you said, and I would add one more thing: his length does allow him to recover and prevent people getting by him, but I've noticed he has a much better spacial reasoning than most (cough) defenders in the current NBA. He uses angles/anticipation in ways most other players, whoever they are, don't which gets him a lot of those from the side or back blocks he gets. The clips you picked do a great job of showing that too. So nice to see some of these dudes focusing on defense.

  7. Watson is great and Russ is amazing but the contracts of MPJ and Murray are atrocious for the Nuggets. This will split the team come the playoffs…

  8. The limit to the nuggets ceiling has been defense, but if he's an actual weapon on that end, he may be able to help cork the point loss enough to compete w thunder and the like

  9. Yeah we've gotten the answers to those off-season questions that's for sure. Honestly, I think this 8-10 man rotation roster is arguably the best in the NBA right now. Games last season or even the championship season if we were missing AG and Joker we pretty much wrote that one off unless we lucked into a cellar dweller game near the end of the season. Now at home the Nuggets can hang with just about anybody even missing those two.

  10. I was not mad at the choices they made last summer.

Because there was 2 guys in the shadow !!

    2 Diamonds !

And they only needed time !

Thank you Braun and Wattson, i'm happy for Jokic.

  11. What you need to do is show Watson, Braun and Strawther's stats this year compared to Bruce Brown, KCP and Jeff Green's. . . then to really rub it in, show all their salaries. Maybe that will finally shut up all those people who constantly said Nuggets front office is a bunch of idiots who "just let everyone walk". As if keeping a team's top 4 players means absolutely nothing.

  12. i'm loving the videos on these defensive minded players. Alex Hoops posted one about Keon Ellis yesterday that was really nice too.

  13. Unfortunately with Murray playing like a role player while making 60mm a year the nuggets wonโ€™t be doing anything in the west

  14. Watson started the season awfully (first 10-15 games), but is playing very good lately, if he can keep that up and keep improving he is vital to this team.

Same goes for Strawther. Strawther needs to get more intelligent on defense though, he's a great offensive player, but i have never seen any player make so many stupid fouls like Strawther does. If he can improve on that, i am very confident in our rotation going into the playoffs. I think we might be able to still snatch the 2nd seed, but i am not sure if we can beat OKC in a 7 game series. Time will tell

  15. Everyone is eating bc of WB!!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ The energy is REAL!

  16. Probably, elsewhere he would have been an offensive liability, but Denver leave so much space for him to miss, and he's learning and improving through his errors

  17. I really like watson heโ€™s the nuggets future #2 or #3. Once he figure out his 3 pointer consistently along with his transition heโ€™ll be so deadly. He already has the defensive tools and intangibles but once his offensive game clicks oh man๐Ÿ˜…

  18. he's playing 30 mins a night cus ag is out and he is the best replacement for ag (i still think they need a true swiss knife PF like jeff green). if pwat can be more reliable/consistent on offense, he could be a bruce brown. he won't get the much deserved minutes because murray is too busy hogging it. why do i need murray for 50 mil if i have westbrook for 5m? at this point, i would even just renew westbrook contract to at least 15m. murray needs to retire, since we can't do shit abt him this year. that's the only way this team excels.

  19. Swatson, Braun and Strawther were a revelation this year. I think Denver should not trade anything this year (maybe except for Nnaji) and just adjust their rotation. Like, for one, bench Murray and have a starting rotation of Swatson, Wesbrook and Braun depending on the opponent. And when this season ends and Murray is eligible for trade then they can trade him for a back up big and some drafts and role players.
