Jamal Shead Is a better PG than Quickley
Not impressed with Quickley. He shouldn’t be handling the ball; he’s not setting the table for anyone.
Gradey should play with Shead
Gradey will be a bench player – his defensive ineffectiveness will stop him from being a starter on a playoffs team
Why is everyone so impatient with Gradey? It's only half way through his second season, he's played 1.5 years of NBA level basketball, and he's already made an incredible jump from last year. Do you remember how he was doing the first half of last season? Many of you were calling him a bust and someone who would be out of the league in a couple of years. Now he's levels above that and only getting flack because we are expecting him to be much better, because we know the talent is there. Fantastic off ball and 3-level scorer. Defense is not good, but I'm banking on him to improve it, like I was banking on him to improve his shot and confidence on January of last year. Let him bulk up and keep growing, Raptors will eventually have a better defensive coach and things will look better for everyone.
Be patient. If in 2 years he hasn't progressed then we can talk. He's just hit a wall.
RJ is a different story and a player I expect the Raptors to move eventually.
And btw, we will not out-tank Charlotte and Utah unless we do something drastic (whether that be on the minutes we give to the starters or a move before the deadline) I see us closing the season on a high and that would be tragic for the tank, we need a top 4 pick this year (one of Flagg, Harper, Bailey or KJ) or the rebuild will take even longer.
Personally I think Jakobe and Shead should just get run in the G League until the end of the G League season along with Mogbo, Battle and Chomche. Then after the trades are made, they can bring them back up. Personally, I just don't see value in playing guys like Jakobe 3-6 mins a game. Just send him down. I think running with Davion, Ochai, Bruce, Boucher and Kelly as a unit until the trade deadline makes sense just to see what you have with Davion before you move on from him or pay him. That's just my thinking anyway. The rookies will get run soon enough after the All Star break so I'm not too concerned about that.

The starting unit doesn't have cohesion but they'll figure it out. Both RJ and Gradey had really high usage when Scottie and IQ were out. IQ is struggling to run the show. But they'll get there eventually. I think Scottie and Quickley need to figure out their 2-man game first. RJ and Gradey need to play off that. And Poetl is that glue guy in the middle.
Darko playing RJ, Gradey, and Quickley in the starters is intentionally done to force their development. Therefore, we have to endure the defensive nightmares.

I can only think that RJ and Gradey getting these defensive matchups / minutes is part of the tank and development plan. Because otherwise they are going to be unplayable unless they are both coming off the bench. RJ is a strong scorer but he gives up all of his points on the defensive end. Anyhow, I’m assuming that when they prioritize winning over development Gradey will have to come off the bench (because of his bad on ball D) and there will
need to be a starting lineup that hides RJ’s defensive shortcomings.

Quickley needs to be Quickly traded
that first clip is not even RJ's fault. Even if he didnt go under thats a bucket from Cade. This is actually Kelly's fault. He needs to higher up on that screen. Not sure if Isaiah Stewart becomes a lob threat with boucher there in the paint (i know boucher is not gonna stop it but cade will think twice before passing to Isaiah because there's a body on him now).
Third clip cade goes at RJ. RJ plays good defence. What else do you want him to do lmao? He's moving his feet, he stays with Cade. Cade just gets an extra bump at the end that creates enough space to get off the shot. It's more about how good Cade is. idk why the commentary was thats too easy
