Jimmy's camp called Memphis threating to opt out of his player option if they traded for him. Memphis was not going to offer the same package to the Heat if Jimmy was going to opt out of his player option in the summer. That would make him a rental for only a few months rather than have him for an extra year. Jimmy did it to try to force his way to Phoenix because that is the ONLY team willing to extend him for a 3rd year at the max. That's why that trade with Memphis fell apart.
