According to ESPN, the Charlotte Hornets are trading 7-foot center Nick Richards and a second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Josh Okogie and three second-round picks. This move addresses the Suns’ need for size, rim protection, and athleticism in their center rotation while giving the Hornets additional draft assets and a versatile defender in Okogie.
In this video, we break down the details of the trade, how Nick Richards fits into Mike Budenholzer’s system, and the impact on the Suns’ rotations alongside stars like Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. We’ll also discuss what this trade means for both teams moving forward.

Sadly Dunn and Okogie pretty much shared minutes…so now that they have Dunn they got rid of Okogie. Makes sense just sucks cause he’s a cool dude, my wife took a picture with him at summer league. Great guy, always plays hard. I’ll just miss his energy. Always diving for balls and going up against dudes way too big for him lol
He’ll open the game for them
Yehh
Nick Richards changes absolutely nothing for this Suns team. If anything, it makes them worse.
Good video man – keep em coming ❤
Stop already. Okogie wasn’t in the rotation and wasn’t being used much at all! No loss
Okogie really stepped up offensively and became a pretty decent shooter. Shooting basically 50/40 splits this year. Sucks that the suns couldn’t capitalize on that due to them just needing more size in their lineups. But I think he will ultimately be better off somewhere else.
Hornets fleeeced them for two 2nd round picks? 😮 Acquiring ten draft picks in a year is pretty impressive. Hornets front office have a plan they're executing to perfection. 🐝🔥
