I'll give WB some props, he played hard during his one year stint in Houston. Unfortunately for him, he was paired with a Harden that was pretty much ready to check out and go elsewhere. They're actually trained to listen to exchanges with the sidelines, in case they're escalated. It's actually part of their job.
Either ref didn't know Russ was just having a banter with the bench, instead of maybe jawing with them.
Once they realized what Russ was saying, they each smiled and both backed off.
Don't read too much into it. Officiating has been problematic but cut these guys here some slack.
