Our three bigs will need to combine for more than 11 rebounds, and NOT get stuffed on dunk attempts by 36 y/o Westbrook🤦♂️ Grimes will need more points than turnovers. Dinwiddie's shot didn't fall but he got raked in both eyes no call then. He's got to stop foul baiting and instead shoot to score the basket irrespective of whether or not the whistle goes. Klay will need 20+ shots and the team needs to play much faster. This is their opportunity to push the pace and use their athleticism in the open court with Doncic sidelined. Get steals or outlet after rebounds and get on the break.
Something I noticed that’s working extremely well is the two man game with Klay and Lively. Lively needs to stay out of foul trouble.
When they leave or cheat off Klay to rotate to Lively, Klay makes them pay. When they cheat towards Klay, Lively gets an easy spinning hook or dunk at the rim.
The Achilles of this years team. Without Luka & Irving drawing the top defenders and now those defenders being put on PJ, SD, Klay, Liv, Gafford and Grimes in crunch time they simply are too inconsistent. Missed free throws, 2/19 from 3, Joker destroyed Liv/Gaff in crunch time and Arron Gordan just owned PJ. Our so called great role players & bench are just overrated for 1 reason. One night they great next night terrible. A 16 point lead in the 3rd we had no one produce in the 4th on either end. ISO with SD/PJ/Hardy/Grimes/ Klay in tbe 4th we just dont have those players that consistently produce. Disappointed? Kidd and ecery Mavs player just chocked down the stretch. If this is the year then some trades are needed. Luka and Irving have to get healthy and play great for us to have a chance. We dont need players 3 thur 10 to be great but we do need them to be consistently good and unfortunately none are. Great to terrible within 8 mins of clock. IMO Maxi, Powell, Morris, Williams, OMax should be traded to bring in a Toppin or Nance (Jones before getting hurt) to back up PJ. Then get a D oriented back up Point guard. Last go get BB to a 2 yr deal as a 11th to 12th player that can hit the 3 and score. I dont understand how you carry Morris/Powell who are simply unplayable in meaningful mins. I think Edwards should be given a shot as well.

It wasnt just a 19 pts, it was a 16 point comeback and then 19pts comeback. That's pretty impressive in one game.
Jason Kidd was able to ruin this game too… His love for Maxi Kleber is insane. They cost us the game.
Plus Dinwiddie starting PG is one of the worst thing can happens for a basketball team. Low IQ basketball and big ego.
However i don't think we can win a title with Kidd on the bench, he is too bad.
Even with Luka and Kyrie he will find a way to lose games. That's sad.
Does anybody want to talk about why Naji is so apathetic on defense this season (Harden is a better defender than Marshall)? Wasnt he brought in to fill the void D.Jones Jr left on the perimeter defensively; wasn't his defense touted? Why is Naji hunting for offense all season like it's a contract year? Look carefully at the first 7 minutes of the game – see 2 players with max contracts. You will not see such a shameful game in any NBA team. Look at the worst defense of players in the history of the NBA – MPJ elite scorer as the coach talks about him – 12.5 percent shot for 3. Look at the defense of these two and you will laugh to tears, and for the offense and cry.

This is why I think we need to look for a PJ upgrade instead of a maxi upgrade. I love PJ , but pj is playing out of his role. I think we need to take a swing at a player like Brandon Ingram. i woke up early and watched the scoreboard and is honestly surprised we are leading by 17 points and tuned in and i witnessed the meltdown point by point.. lot of turn overs, poor rebounding and defense..and gordon turned into stephen curry in that stretch.. on to the next game.. lets go mavz..

12 points in the 4th quarter is unacceptable. Dinwiddie really blew the game away HEAVILY for some odd reason. Didn’t do any plays for Klay, it’s like he got selfish. Then the rebounding was terrible.
Stop with the excuses. Had the Mavs won you wouldn't say they cause they didnt have Luka and Kyrie. Its a lazy reason, if they had the ability to go up 16 and 19 pts then they had the ability to win. The problem with the Mavs they dont have a plan B. I'm not sold on when they are making everything those games happen what happens when the shot arent falling. Can you get stops, make adjustments. What kills me is when our bigs dont take 2 dribbles and go at Jokic chest and get him in foul trouble. Spencer move the damn ball, Maxi shoot, PJ drive to the basket, Hardy just go, Grimes work the midrange and drive, Marshall push the transitions, play Omax and B williams. Like have a different plan other than shooting a stupid amount of 3's.
They stopped attacking the basket in the 4th and Jokic took over. Kidd isnt equipped to win games like this. Iso all day isnt the answer but its what Kidd wants
Observation: coaching staff failure in fourth when they went small ball with Jokic out of the game. That’s when the lead and ultimately the game got away. This observation seems to be confirmed by Jokic game +/- of -2.

Diddwitty in the clutch keep shooting bad shot not running the offense like 4-5 posession in a row each time they score in ran the offense buy just getting stuck . i would have PLAY Hardy rather than THE GHOST OF HARDERWAY IN FORM OF DIDDWITTY
Well reviewing the stats man does our weaknesses stand out like a sore thumb. #1. Consistency.
#2. Effort & Attitude. #3. Basic fundamental D. Block outs, Rim Protection and not giving up second shots. Liv/Gafford/PJ/Naji/Maxi/Grimes/SD just got killed on giving up offensive rebounds. #4 O we can't just run SD iso when we need a basket, this also go straight to Kidd to develop some sort of ball movement offense when Luka and Irving. #5. This group is not as good as they think they are without Luka and Irving. In closing the praise given to PJ is simply not warranted. One game he is solid next game he gets destroyed Gordan killed him his weak side help is not consistent. His foot movement to keep good players in front of him is inconsistent but last and my biggest complaint with him is IMO his effort when not getting involved in the Offense definitely impacts is attitude on both ends of the court. Same goes true to the over praise for Liv but not in his effort or attitude but rather just being 20yrs old and playing against better stronger more experienced players. Gaff just too inconsistent 1 great game next game flops when touched and a no show. For all the talk about our new additions and how great they are without Luka & Irving they are simply too inconsistent to be a top team comes playoffs unless Luka comes back playing at a MVP level which i simply don't think will happen. Irving coming back 100% will definitely have a major lift.
